I was flipping through the Allure Magazine that I got in my stocking this year and I came across this great article:
‘Top 10 Things You Need for Spring’
Ok, so maybe you don’t need them. Maybe I don’t need them. Maybe I don’t like them. But we can’t deny that these articles are a fun way to experiment with make-up.
I take everything in this magazine with a grain of salt– guilty entertainment, that’s all. :)
1) Dark Eyeliner (I have never been a fan of it on me)
2) Red Lipstick (ditto above)
3) Fake Lashes
I bought these MAC individual lashes for my wedding, but I never ended up wearing them. I was too afraid they would fall off!
4) Highlighter
My Revlon Skinlights highlighter cream and powder (I don’t think they sell this anymore?)
Where to apply highlighter:
The finished product is a natural glow:
5) Brown shadow (I love brown shadow, especially because it brings out my blue eyes)
6) Hair Accessories
I love this one to throw my hair in a messy up-do
7. Brow Pencil
I prefer eyebrow powder for a more natural look. I use Quo brand. It is a powder/wax duo. I don’t use the wax much. I also use my tried and true MAC eyebrow brush. It’s a bit beat up, but it still works like a charm. :D
8. Shine Spray
I like this Keratase serum for shine:
9) Body Cream
I love Nivea creams. Sometimes I mix some shimmer powder into my lotion for a shimmery glow before going out at night.
10) Rattail Comb
It’s not a rattail comb but it works for teasing. Big hair is in right now! So go tease yourself silly. :D

Will you be trying out any of these products for the new year?
I would like to experiment a bit more with teasing to add volume to my hair. My hairdresser would do it occasionally and it always looked so good. I need to practice so it looks natural!
I am also still on a quest to find a shade of red lipstick that looks good on me….haven’t found one yet.

Nighty night!
See you tomorrow for my first official day back to work….yuk! Thankfully I only have 3 days this week!
I am also in search for a good red lipstick, but they always look horrible!
I love kerastase – hopefully one day I will be able to afford all of it and not feel bad about spending the money on hair products. But, they truly are amazing!
If you figure out the teasing, I would love to see any tricks/methods.
Great products, thanks!!
okay .. where do I get the hair gadget? how does it work?
That hair thing looks cool!
My make-up artist used fake lashes on me at my wedding and they looked amazing, but I would definitely be scared of doing it myself.
I already sport black eyeliner, although I thought I was outdated – I’m glad it’s back because I really can’t live without it! :)
I so love these beauty tricks you got here. I have been struggling doing my own make up, but this made me get more inspired.
