Surprise!

June 18, 2009

Whatdaya think?

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! So fresh and sassy!

fun Guess who started their own blog?

Some of you guessed it correctly in this morning’s post!

I present to you…

Soup Up My House by none other than my HUBBY, Eric!

Untitled

If you do one thing today please stop on over and check it out and leave him a comment!!! He is convinced that no one is going to read, but I happen to think that he has an amazing idea!!!! :) Let’s show Oh He Glows some Glow love. lol.

And might I just add that I am totally jealous of his wicked Avatar design? He did that in one night! Hot dayum.food

Today I have been busy as a bee in the kitchen! This morning I made my Skinni-Mini Glo Buns. Boy does the house smell amazing!!

IMG_3663

I still need to ice them…

I am happy to say that my muscles are feeling almost fully recovered from my 10k race on Sunday! Just a tiny bit of soreness left. I have been stretching like it is my job (and also taking all my vitamins) so I think that has helped loads!

Just to be sure, I had another protein packed lunch!

I had some Salmon to use up that we got on sale a few weeks ago:

IMG_3518

I made open faced toasted salmon sandwiches:

  • 1 can flaked salmon
  • 1-2 T soy yogurt (unsweetened)
  • Ground pepper
  • Fresh Garlic chives from the garden (!!!)
  • Tomato slices
  • Hemp dressing

Look at the garlic chives outside!!! :D

IMG_3490 IMG_3489

They are tasty!

The sandwich:

Mary’s Crackers and natural peanut butter:

IMG_3520

The peanut butter has been FLOWING in this house since I started making all these On The Glo Bars! I missed PB. :) AB still has a ‘nutritional place’ in my heart but I love PB sometimes!

Ok, back to baking!

And then this:

PS- I didn’t really cut my hair! Did I trick you?

Photoshop can do some amazing things! :)

I have thought about it…but when it comes down to it I don’t think I could do it. Plus, Eric is a ‘long hair man’. lol.

Today’s question: Tell me about your most horrifying hair experience!!!

Mine was definitely about 8 years ago. I asked for choppy layers and brought in a pictures of Britney Spears. What I ended up with was layers 2 inches from the top of my head, in a horrible shag all over! I looked like a dead rat and my hair looked like it was horribly damaged and splitting. I was traumatized and it took me 3 years to finally grow out!!! To this day I am a huge control freak whenever someone comes near me with scissors!

Have a great day!

oh also, i have a question about the canned salmon you use. do you make sure to buy canned wild salmon? idk if they even make that lol but lately i’ve tried to stop eating farmed fish because of what they feed the fish and what that diet does to the omega 3/omega 6 fats in the fish so i was wondering if that’s a concern to you or if you just buy like regular canned salmon. k thanks!

Good to know short hair would work on you!

In college, I had my cartilage pierced on my ear. The guy cutting it kept getting his comb caught in the hoop of that earring and pulling it out. IT HURT! This kept happening, about 4-5x. He wound up giving me the haircut for free, but that hole closed up for good on that day.

For some reason, my freshman year in college, I decided a pixie cut would be cute on me. I have a round face and large cheeks. It definitely was not cute. I cried while at the salon and started growing it out immediately. It took years.

And you totally tricked me with the hair!

You definitely tricked me with your hair, but my first reaction was, “OMG she is super duper cute with short hair!!!!” You’re beautiful either way!

I’m adding your hubby’s blog to my reader. I love when you post about house stuff, so I can’t wait to see more on his blog!

I fell for it! But if you ever did cut it off you would look very cute! I actually just donated 10 inches of my hair to Locks for Love a couple months ago. It took some getting used to, but it’s a nice look for summer! Not to mention the short blow drying time.

You know, I have to agree with Eric. Your hair is BEAUTIFUL… I’d keep it long if I were you!

My worst hair experience was this past March. I decided to go a bit lighter, but the hair stylist screwed up the colors and made it an ashy, yellow blond. Let’s just say that lasted all of 2 days haha!

Hooray for Eric starting a blog! You are such a good influence Angela. :)

haha I knew Eric was going to start a blog!! :)

I think you’d look cute with short hair. My husband has always been a “long hair guy” forever, but I recently cut my hair and donated it to Locks of Love – loved doing it, and my husband likes my hair, too. :) Plus it’s perfect for summer!

Too bad really, your face and features is more proportional with the mid-length bob. Too bad ladies have men in their lives holding them back. I see that in my salon all the time.

Hey Angela!

I haven’t commented in a while because I have been so super busy but I haven’t stopped reading. Good job on your 10K!

I must admit that I am little relieved that the pic was fake. I think your long hair is so nice! I have long hair as well and I often go through phases of wanting to cut it but I always chicken out. :)

OH MY GOODNESS!

i was totally fooled… it looks fantastic short though. You’re so lucky you suit both long and short. would you consider it? How would you handle exercise and keeping it out of your eyes?

I’m definitely an advocate of short hair! Short hair is no less feminine or sexy than long hair (my boyfriend recently saw pix of me from when I had a very stylish short cut and actually asked me to cut my hair off! So clearly not all men are on the long-hair bandwagon :-)).
My worst haircut happened when I was about 3. My older brother and I found a pair of scissors and decided to play barber shop. He cut my hair really close to the scalp on one side… when my mother saw it, she wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry, and I had to get it cut very short (with bangs) to even it out. I totally looked like a boy, and those bangs stuck around for way too long :-).

I just chopped off some hair last night for summer. My hair is super super thick and wavy so a shorter cut is more manageable for summer. yet i still have to keep SOME length b/c of its wavyness

my worst hair experience: MY MOTHER CUTTNG MY BANGS IN 4TH GRADE. She cut them diagonally!!!!!!!!! I was horrified and remind her all.the.time of how she traumatized me – hehehe jk

my hubby loves long hair too, but mine just doesn’t look good THAT LONg, i get too sick of it before I’ve ever been able to grow it out too much. but he’ll deal with my short cut for summer :) it’ll be so much easier to maintain with humidity and stuff
