Do you ever start a project with zest and vitality only to feel like you’ve created an uncontrollable monster after a couple hours?
Examples: Cleaning out your closet. Organizing a pantry. Home renovations. Writing a thesis. Wedding thank yous. Sometimes, it has to get worse before it gets better.
Well, that’s sort of how I felt with this little pet project of mine. What started as an innocent list quickly became a huge undertaking. I asked you for suggestions yesterday on twitter and Facebook for online and in-person stores and they came a floodin’ in! (If you are curious, check out the list here on my Facebook page). My list quickly turned into 4 pages of chicken scratch. Originally, I started making a blog post linking and organizing ALL of the in-store and online vegan stores across the world. You can see how I quickly got in over my head. After working on it all day yesterday, I decided to just focus on the online stores for this post and then figure out what I will do with the storefront list after.
This vegan online shopping guide is a follow-up to Monday’s “Inside my Vegan Pantry” post. My goal for this guide today is to bring awareness to all of the wonderful vegan & vegan-friendly online stores. Feel free to do some price comparing to get the best bang for your buck.
Most of the stores below are food-related, but I also included some clothing and cosmetics as well.
I will add to this list as other recommendations come in (feel free to let me know about other online stores in the comment section!). It’s also likely that I missed some of your suggestions on Twitter and FB yesterday, so you can comment below if you don’t see it on the list and I will add it in.

Tell me below what I’m missing from this list!
Wow what a great list! Thanks so much for compiling this. I’m going to check out some of the links!
In France, we have Un Monde Vegan http://www.unmondevegan.com/index.cfm
merci beaucoup yasmine!
Thanks you Angela. I found your site some time ago and you have helped me in a lot of ways!!!
I think I understood all of that…I guess I have remember more of my french than I thought! :)
So happy to hear you are enjoying the blog :)
Thanks for the great list! iherb is generally my go-to online store (they have great selection, good prices, quick shipping), but I’m excited to check out the others! I’m blaming you for any purchases I make. ;)
Hi Angela,
Fantastic list! 100% Pure is also great for vegan-friendly cosmetics. I love there coffee bean eye cream and Purity Facial Cleanser and Mask. They also have really great green practices. This is a response I received from them after writing in to inquire about their practices.
“100%Pure believes in helping people, animals and the environment. We use 100% recycled goods for our boxes, we use bio-degradable packing peanuts and our packaging for our products are from post recycled good or plastic- For example, our Powdered Blushes that are in the pink tins are made from post recycled soda cans. Even the paper we use in the corporate office is made from recycled paper.”
xx
Catherine
Thanks Catherine! Do you have a link as my search came up with a few different results…want to make sure I put the right one!
Yep! Here you go :)
http://www.100percentpure.com/
thanks!
Unfortunately it seems that this site only mails to Canada – not to the US. Bummer because the products look great!
Wow Ange, this is awesome! There’s also a vegan groupon-like website, Vegan Cuts, that delivers deals (I think once a week) on vegan-friendly products. I haven’t purchased anything yet but they have some good deals!
Yep – and there is one called “Spencer’s Market” – same concept – like Groupon for vegan stuff. I’ve ordered a couple of things from them.
Thanks for putting this together! I want to start buying my pantry staples in bulk so I excited to do some cost comparisons. iHerb is another Canadian online store (not sure if they deliver to the US) that should be added to the list.
Thanks for sharing. I’m recently gone gluten and lactose-free so I’m all for trying new things!
This is great! I have to say, as I watched the responses pouring in on FB, I thought, wow, this is massive. But I knew that your customary optimism would find a way to work it out!
heh I’m thinking about making a website for resources some day. So we’ll see. I think it would have to be user-submitted because I don’t think I can do it on my own!
Excellent list! There is also Rabbit Food Grocery (http://www.rabbitfoodgrocery.com/) which ships via USPS- however they are not set up to ship refrigerated/frozen items yet. They also offer local pick-up in Austin, TX.
I need to check these sites out … there are obviously waaaay more sites than I thought out there. I’m not vegan, but I like to experiment :)
Great post! I live in Ireland so even the UK links will prove useful. Now all we need is more than one vegan restaurant!
Michelle, I totally agree !!
The odd time I get to dublin cornucopia is mobbed !!
Our vegan resources are pretty limited – I spend a lot of time in the kitchen – and am well used to getting looked at like in a crazy person in some restaurants but have had great experiences too !!
Anne
I went to Yamamori last night, Japanese Cuisine has so many vegan options it was great!
Ooh nice! Just filled our faces with vegetable nori rolls ala Alicia silverstones ‘kind diet’.
Messy but yummy!
I will have to check out your blog for some local tips and inspiration – I have pretty much relied on oh she glows to feed my family the last few years, it’s good to know we aren’t the only ones on the island going vegan!
For yummy vegan bakery items, try www.sweetfreedombakery.com
Their cupcakes are AMAZING, and everything can be ordered or brought from their shop in Philly, PA!!!!
nuts.com in the US is a good one.
This is awesome!! Thanks for sharing :)
Well.ca (ships to the US as well) has a bunch of vegan products – food, soaps, supplements, etc. I’m not vegan myself but doing a search for ‘vegan’ on the site brings up 16 pages of products. I’m not sure of the cost to ship to the US but they ship for free in Canada no matter how much your order costs. They’re also a great resource for gluten-free products as well.
Azure Standard delivers throughout a lot of the United States. They have a huge variety of products. They sell organic products from other companies as well as items they grow on their organic farm in Oregon.
great resource, thanks angela! love iherb and amazon personally!
THANK YOU SOOO MUCH. I’m from Australia and was having a massive rant about how I wish I lived in the US because I couldn’t find unsweetened applesauce or almond milk, nor could I find an affordable pack of Stevia.
Great idea, putting together a list like this… that is a big undertaking, but it’s so, so appreciated!
I think it’s called Vegan Cuts but it offers deals on vegan products. Awesome list!
