I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

My favorite vegan food is almond milk. It’s a simple staple in my diet and I use it in (basically) everything:)
i love so many things that are vegan, but the most simple is FRUIT! i am amazed at the wonderful things nature provides that man doesnt have to mess up in a factory with fake ingredients! but then again there are pesticides… sigh!! ;)
Hummus! Yum!
Vegan cookies! And cookie batter, let’s be honest.
Oh that is such a hard question! For a snack I am really loving kale chips!
oh- so hard to pick one! i’ve really been enjoying chia puddings lately as my mid-morning snack. i mix up chia, a scoop of protein powder, cinnamon, coconut flakes, dried cherries, and almond milk. let it sit for a bit, and then we’re good to go! so easy and tasty.
My favourite vegan food is homemade apple chips with nothing added but cinnamon. My inspiration was your apple chip recipe :)
peanut butter!
Toss up between hummus and kale chips (and Indian food, although I don’t count that since I’m Indian)! Thanks for doing the giveaway.
I made your chocolate torte for Thanksgiving and everyone loved it! I love avocados in general and also nutritional yeast.
My favorite would have to be dehydrated kale chips with a raw vegan cheese sauce… So yummy even my 18 month old loves them!!

Kale chips with nutritional yeast. Yum!
Oh wow, this is such a great giveaway Ange!! What a great opportunity to visit a cafe founded by Sarma too. I read a bit about her when I was learning about raw food diets and really liked her book, Living Raw Food. I think one of my favourite vegan goodies is kale chips, but you’ve got me very curious about those vanilla crispies!! I’m a sucker for vanilla so they could quickly become my favourite!
Oooh, what a wonderful and generous giveaway!
This is an impossible question, really . . . probably a huge bowl of oatmeal made with oat bran and pumpkin and almond milk (and some leftover homemade cranberry sauce, nowadays — so good!), or maybe my very own coconut milk “nutella” ice cream. Mmmmm… :)
I love the Zen Bakery carrot cake muffins. They are so good. Their pumpkin ones are awesome too.
