I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

My favorite vegan food would HAVE to be pumpkin- I use it in everything! From oats, to pumpkin pie smoothies, to dessert… it’s delicious, packed with health benefits, and so versatile! YUM!
What a wonderful giveaway!! Where to begin with favorite?!! My smoothies, date-coconut-chocolate bars, PB2 with everything!! Cinnamon Rolls! Your avocado pasta, Vegan loaf, and Pizza!
Vegan zucchini banana bread or mac and cheese with butternut squash.
I absolutely loveeeee vegan carrot cheesecake! Also, your butternut squash burritos are up their on my favorite vegan food list! The softness of the bnut squash in the burrito is PERFECTION!
Fave vegan food? That’s a though questions! I’m going to be the stereotypical vegan here and say HUMMUS. I don’t think I could live without it.
My favorite snack is probably kale chips. Delish!
I love vegan mac and cheeze and your awesome avocado chocolate pudding!
Raw vegan date squares. OMG. And your butternut squash mac and cheeze. OMG again.
Ahhh! So many delicious foods to choose from! I’d have to sayyyyy Kale Chips, I go mad for this local brand (lydias organics) that are uuber healthy and extra tasty. But hey, Whole Foods make Vegan Donuts that are out of this world, better than normal donuts, my non-vegan turned me on to those and they are amazing. especially the pumpkin ones. I think one can find true balance in life with Kale chips and vegan donuts!!
absolutely addicted to cinnamon sugar apple chips this season!
I’m actually not vegan, but love all the recipes I’ve tried from your blog. This may sound silly, but to be honest it was a relief to discover that vegan food is amazing!!! I eat pretty healthfully in general, but always feel ‘a little bit better’ after eating vegan.
I love anything pumpkin or sweet potato. I’d say my fave is the Pumpkin Gingerbread with Spiced Buttercream but I also love This Ain’t Grandma’s Sweet Potato Casserole. Mind you, once I try your pumpkin pie recipes, the others may pale in comparison. We shall see… :-)
Overnight oats, best way to start out the day:)
My favorite vegan food is all of Indian cuisine. I’ve grown up with it and my tastebuds sing when I eat it! :D
I’d probably have to go with oatmeal+banana+peanut butter, possibly with some pumpkin and maple syrup mixed in there.
Hummus!
My favorite vegan food is tostadas, piled high with beans, guacamole, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, slices of jalapeno, sprinkled with cilantro, and a squeeze of lime. Yum, I think I’ll go make some now!
yummy!
Cold rolls would definetly be the last meal and a smoothie
and peaches straight off the tree in the backyard
Bring on Summer!
Green smoothies, my all-time favourite vegan food…or just food in general. They give you energy, keep you regular, and taste great.
My favourite vegan food is probably bean dip. My husband and I eat bean dips (usually hummus in a wrap almost every day.) One of my very favourite bean dips is the Black Bean and Orange Hummus in Eat, Drink, and Be Vegan by Dreena Burton, but leave out the fresh herbs. It’s seriously tasty. And I’ve eaten a lot of different bean dips!
