I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!

We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

A super delicious blend of sprouted beans that I found at Costco! Great in a salad, loving it! Awesome giveaway, I’ve always wanted to go to New York!
Banana soft serve, coconut milk ice cream, or larabars (clearly i have a sweet tooth!)
Vegan peanut butter cookies! Peanut butter, sugar, and one flax egg. So easy.
But seriously, fruit is my favorite. I could eat fruit at every meal and be happy :)
After looking through One Lucky Duck’s site, I really wish they were located near me.
In terms of favorite vegan foods, I would have to say, I really love a lot of your recipes. I didn’t think I could count how many times I’ve made the Back on Track Wheatberry salad for my family. And I just made the filling for your Butternut Squash Black Bean burritos last night, for the second time, and am so in love with that recipe. Each time I’ve made it I’ve doubled the recipe and it will literally disappear in an hour. It was delicious.
Your vegan mac and cheeze! Yummo!
I have to say that one of my favorite vegan foods is the blonde macaroons from Sarma’s book! I’ve even turned “non sweets eating people” on to it! Have a great time in NY! I’d love to make it there for a visit some time! P.S. I absolutely love your pumpkin gingerbread with spiced frosting recipe!!
I have to say, my favorite is hands down your chocolate chip cookie recipe! I swear buy it and make everyone who tries them get the recipe from your website! I could eat them (or the dough) all day long!!!
Youre such a generous person to be hosting this giveaway! I wish I could go to New York and experience One Lucky Duck myself!
Vegan Chocolate Cupcakes are my fav!
My favorite vegan food is the vegan-ized version of a family classic I revamped. SOS is the go-to traditional “special occasion” breakfast of my family, consisting of ground meat and onions in a white sauce on toast. I replaced the meat with smashed chickpeas and subbed vegan butter and almond milk in the bechamel, and it worked wonderfully! Now I don’t have to miss out on holiday mornings when the rest of the house is chowing down.
Butternut squash fries are my favorite vegan food this week…
Your chilled Chocolate Mousse Pie!!!
One of my favorite, I gotta say, is steel cut oatmeal, with soymilk, raw cacao, cinnamon, & blueberries, & a date.
Simple, yet extremely filling, especially before a bike ride!
:)
Anything with chickpeas! Oh, and your dessert granola!
I think my favorite vegan meal has to be your avocado pasta. Its delicious, super easy, needs only a couple of ingredients and never once has not tasted exactly as good as I was expecting it to! For a girl who has to cook all crazy b/c of all kinds of food restrictions, that pasta recipe is practically a miracle.
Larabars (aka Jackiebars when I make them myself) and GREEN MONSTER SMOOTHIES!!
I looove roasted seaweed snacks from Trader Joes.
Anything from the Spiral Diner in Fort Worth!
The dark chocolate ganache tart with vanilla cream from your book Raw Food Real World is my all time favorite!
Well, it used to be peanut butter, but then my husband just brought home a deep-fried oreo from a vegan place here in LA… I think it’s gonna top the list!
one of my fave vegan foods is oatmeal. its so versatile. you can make it sweet, or savory. i know that may not be a fancy answer, but i heart it!!!
