I had my first One Lucky Duck experience in NYC after hearing so many good things about it over the past few years. One Lucky Duck was founded in 2005 by Sarma Melngailis, the co-creator of the Manhattan raw food restaurant, Pure Food and Wine. Sarma started One Lucky Duck to help bring the raw, vegan and organic lifestyle out of the underground and into the mainstream.
At One Lucky Duck, you can find all kinds of amazing raw vegan snacks from raw macaroons to chocolate chip cookies, handmade in small batches in the kitchen at NYC’s raw vegan restaurant, Pure Food and Wine.
We visited the Chelsea Market location and I was so excited to step inside this cafe!
We did all kinds of NYC sightseeing on this day of our travels, so the market was a nice change of pace after rushing around all day.
I bashfully asked the server if I could snap a picture or two. I don’t know about you other bloggers, but I get shy when I take pictures of food…!
It’s a really cute & cozy cafe. All of their products are on the wall including a fridge for fresh juices and whatnot. I got myself a few goodies (macaroons, raw chocolate, and buckwheat crispies) and a shot of wheatgrass for good measure.
It was hard to choose! I’ve somehow managed to open everything over the past few days and everything tastes incredible. I especially fell in love with the buckwheat cinnamon crispies (below). Maybe I can make these at home too? It’s on my list. ;)

This contest is open to anyone, anywhere in the world.
Love all the awesome raw vegan sauces you can make with cashews!!! SO GOOD!
I’ve been on a huge pumpkin kick, and i recently made pumpkin hummus. that is my new favourite vegan food for the time being.
There are just so many fav vegan foods but I just love a huge salad, filled with veggies, sprouts, seeds, nutritional yeast, maybe some cooked/sprouted grains, and topped off with a delicious dressing! Also, gotta love vegan muffins!
My favorite vegan food would have to be salad rolls with peanut sauce, yum!
Pick one?! Impossible!! Anything from Candle 79 comes to mind for starters! LOVE their spaghetti and wheat balls, although their Stuffed Avocado and Kale salads are probably two of my favorite vegan meals ever. I’ve never been to One Lucky Duck, but everything you chose sounds delicious!!
My favorite vegan food is chips, salsa, and guacamole!! :)
We’re in the middle of a freezing spell so my current favorite vegan food is roasted vegetables. I add the leftovers to my black beans for enchiladas…..but lately with the temperatures where they have been, I’ve not had leftovers! Time to make more…..
I just started making my own nut milks (mostly almond), so my current favorite veg foods all seem to involve that.
My favorite vegan food has to be super lame, but beans and rice. It is so satisfying, can be done a million ways with any sauce, veg, cold/hot, anything! Love it and hope I’m not too late for the giveaway!
One lucky duck is actually the reason I started being more open to vegan foods. Their stuff is amazing. One of my favorite vegan foods is a raw chocolate pudding made with avocado for creaminess. It’s like heaven on earth!
For me, it’s a toss-up between sweet potatoes and chickpeas. Both of them are so delicious, healthy and versatile!
I love the peanut butter oatmeal cookies from Veganomicon.
Green Monsters have changed my mornings (and the rest of the day because of their amazing effects). Normally I would say something that imitates chocolate or cheese.. or chocolate, but green monsters aren’t substitutions they are just wholesome ingredients that blended together taste great and set up my whole day to eat and live well. Big fan of the GM. (side note: deep down im a chocohalic and wouldnt ever say no to ANYTHING chocolately, just sayin)
I L<3VE what my mom and I call Avocado soup. We developed it as an alternative to gespacho. It's an all fresh veggie chilled soup with avocados, lil' bit jalepeno, cilantro, … ? From memory I don't remember all of the ingredients, but I love it and would eat it constantly if I could! I can get the recipe from my mom if you're interested!
My new favorite vegan food are the gardein Chicken nuggets!!! love love love them!
Favorite has to be Indian fare–always so much flavor!
