Thanks to your help this morning, I was able to create a fundraising page through Canada helps. I knew you guys would pull through for me. :)
I’m really excited to announce that I’m holding a fundraiser to raise money for the Canadian Red Cross Japan Disaster relief. I have been thinking about how I could help out and I decided to do this because there is strength in numbers!
My goal is to raise at least $1,000. Fundraiser closes Wednesday March 16th at 10pm EST. It is a lot to raise in just over 1 day, but I KNOW that we can make this happen!
It’s so great you’re doing something to support the people in Japan! I’ve just started a little solidarity for Japan blogging project myself. I believe everybody who contributes in thinking of and praying for the people helps a little, even if it just symbolic.
I’ve also seen that picture of the woman above on a German news site. It’s so sad … Totally unconceivable.
This is an awesome idea! It’s so inspiring to see bloggers doing what they can to help. :D
you are amazing!! already exceeded your goal and more- you are truly beautiful on the inside and out!
What a lovely idea!
And to know you are four times past your goal with about 24 hours left! Crazy amazing!
Fingers crossed for me. ;)
As someone who has friends in Sendai – thank-you for doing this! It means an awful lot! :)
This is very impressive and incredible . In just 5 hours it went from 2,480 to over 4,000 or more . Wow! You pretty much quadrupled it already! Way to go Canada!
I’m in Australia so can’t enter but just wanted to say great idea! I am donating to Australia’s relief fund. So so sad :(
You are awesome!!
I made a $100 dollar donation but am in Dubai, so if my name gets picked please pick someone else xxx
That’s so cute!!
thank you so much for your generosity!
I’ve never commented before but I’ve been reading and enjoying your blog for a long time, and I just want to say thank you. I live in Tokyo and was and am thankfully safe, but it still means a lot to see you using your blog to try to help the many people here who will need it!
what an incredible thing to do, and what a response! over $4600 in the first day–way to go!!
awesome job, Ange!! unfortunately not in North America so won’t be able to participate….i was disappointed when some of the other healthy living bloggers didn’t even mention Japan on their blogs!!
This is amazing, Angela. If only I lived in America!
hi!
Long time lurker and first time commenter here. :) As a japanese reader, I just had
to say thank you. THANK YOU ALL so so much for letting us know that we are not alone in our struggles. You have no idea how much this means to us. Youre an absolute angel :)
XxX
I’m donating in Norway and we are also a bunch of people collecting things to send to japan.
We are collecting blankets, clothes and other non-perishables to physically send to a helpstation.
I know it won’t get there immediatelly but i hope they will find use for it in the process following this disaster…
have you thought of sending actual glo-bars to japan?
there may be schools or shelters that could use a treat?
Oh how I wish I lived in US or Canada right now ;)
I love your website and I think this is just a great idea.
You are such a sweetheart for doing this. I really hope you reach your goal of $1000! I’m not in the US or Canada so won’t be entering, but made my donation yesterday via Medicins Sans Frontieres :)
Good on you Angela!
Angela – This is such an incredible idea, and a great example for the rest of us. Thank you!
I linked to the donation from my blog today. I can’t believe you’re already over $4K! :)
Hey Angela,
I’m going to put a link to your draw on my blog (just did a post about Japan). That is amazing that you have already surpassed your goal. You are inspiring girl :)
If today is anything like yesterday, you may need to add another “0” to the end of your original goal! :)
just donated too! :)
count me in!

A huge well done for raising so much! :D
(The little thermometer-esque bar should be BURSTING at the end!)
Just wanted to add that I love your blog and you are an inspiration. Thanks for helping me glow!
I can’t donate, either. Getting the same error.
we are back up!
Great! I just donated! BTW: You’re up to 5798.80!! That’s amazing!
speaking of which, do you mind if I borrow your glo bar photo as part of my blog post – linking people to this page/post?
Just donated and saw you are close to 6,000! Talk about good will. Seeing things like this re-instills my belief that people do care! Thank you so much for putting this on!
I also made a status on facebook–hope it generates some traffic! I cant wait to see the final number!
I love this idea!!! :D

Hi Angela!
I am a frequent reader of your blog – as in every day! – but I haven’t before commented. I just wanted to say, as many have before me, how wonderful this idea was to provide an incentive for people to donate to the disaster relief. I just donated and saw that we’ve almost raised $7000! That’s absolutely incredible and mind-boggling!!!! Congratulations for putting this all together and for all the hard work you put in to this amazing blog. I love it so, so, so much! I brings a glow to my day each and every time I read it :)
Michelle
