Good morning everyone!
Last night I had FUN on You Tube! lol. I was watching Dancing With The Stars (can you believe it was the first episode I’ve ever watched??) and I got inspired.
I said to myself, “I would love to learn how to dance!”
I used to be in ballet and figure skating when I was younger and I have always loved artistic expression through dance. It channels my creative side. :)
So I decided to go on You Tube and see if there were any instructional videos on various kinds of dance.
Sure enough, I found a fun introductory Salsa video!
I think I am hooked. I did this video about 3 times last night! It is really fun and easy to pick up the steps. I find counting the numbers also helps too.
It was a great workout too- got my heart pumping a bit and a smile on my face! I also did ab exercises last night (boat, plank, side planks, leg lifts) and a few yoga poses. I have definitely noticed more core strength since I have been doing more ab and yoga work the past couple weeks! Hopefully this will help prevent me from getting injured again. :)
I am going to look for more dance videos today. :) I would love to eventually take a class or something. Eric is not keen on the idea of participating though! I guess I will have to find a new dancing partner! lol.
Orange Creation:
I had another successful creation for Glo Bakery last night!
I made Vegan Carrot Muffins
They turned out really good. They are definitely keepers. I have a couple ideas on how to modify them next time I make them too. :)
I adapted the recipe found here. I removed all the oil, refined sugars, etc. I used applesauce, natural cane sugar, WWPF, agave nectar, soy yogurt, etc.
Hubby liked them too! He will be bringing them to work for the coworker taste test. The Apple Cake I made the other day was a big hit. :) One of his coworkers is going to be buying a dozen of my powerbars from me each week. He told Eric yesterday, “I want them NOW!!!” lol.
Oh She Glows Domestics:
- Just an FYI- I have been getting lots of spam on this website so I changed my setting to disable any comments with 1 or more links in the body. This means unfortunately that you won’t be able to write your blog link at the bottom of your post. Sorry about that. The spam has been really bad. I am going to try to install this spam plug in and see if that helps.
- Don’t forget to participate in the POM contest giveaway for your chance to win 4 CAD or US POM coupons! That is a value of $20!
- Mosey on over to Danica’s Daily for a fun Annie’s giveaway!
Well I am off to get cracking on work! I want today to be much better than yesterday’s interruptions! I’m planted at my desk and I don’t intend on breaking until about 1-2 for lunch. Well, except maybe for 1 small salsa video on You Tube. lol.
Adios Amigos!!
Today’s Question: Have any of you ever taken dance lessons? What was it for and for how long?

Angela-
Do you ever read Clean Eating Magazine? Last night I got the new issue and they have a couple recipes for muffins and baked goods that might also give you some ideas for modifying yours. The recipes look so yummy and all use “clean” ingrediants, like whole wheat flour, agave nector, apple sauce. I can email you a couple of the recipes from the mag if you dont get it in Canada, if you would like.
Hey Becky!
No I have never heard of that magazine, but it sounds right up my alley! Do you know if they have a website?
Do you mean “adios”? :)
This winter we went on a cruise and while in Puerto Rico we got some salsa lessons at a night club – it was so much fun!
I want to take Salsa lessons but the bf isn’t interested either! I bet if these boys actually tried they would LOVE it! Men!

How fun!! Ha i’m sure if you went to a salsa class, got a random partner and came back raving about how fun it was and how good your *new* partner is- Eric will JUUMP on board :D! I think that would be soo much fun too, DWTS looks like a blast- if only for their sparkly outfits, hair and makeup!
