There was once a time in my life when I sat through long, cold football games pretending to know what the hell was going on. After uprooting my life in New Brunswick and moving to Ontario with my mom, I was the new girl at a new high school where I met the man I would someday marry. But first, I would avoid him like the plague.
“He’s cute.” I gushed to a new friend while pointing to this tall, confident guy walking out of class.
“Tell anyone and I’ll kill you.” I added.
The next day, the entire school heard about the new girl’s crush on Eric.
I did what any mortified girl would do and avoided all eye contact while hiding down random staircases whenever he was within 100 feet of me. Or I would suddenly, urgently, need to go to the washroom. Libraries also made good hiding spots. I was willing to keep this up for the entire year if I had to. I only had a year until I graduated anyways.
That morning, Eric was in the locker room getting ready for football practice when his teammates told him about my rumoured crush. He didn’t believe them. “Why would she go after someone like me?” he asked. “You guys are messing with me.”
When my girlfriend confirmed to him it was true, Eric decided to mortify me even more by approaching me during student photos later that afternoon. I was stuck in a line up, going nowhere fast. Shoot me, he’s coming over!
“Hey Angela…” he said with a quivering smile.
My face turned the shade of a beet…no, make that a fire truck.
“Hey,” I replied casually.
“I’m Eric”
Awkward shaking of hands. Very awkward.
“Nice to meet you.”
“Waiting to get your photo taken…?”
“Yup…”
“You…?”
“Same…”
“Cool…”
“Cool.”
……….
……….
“Hey, are you going to the party on Friday night? I think someone mentioned you are going with the girls…” he asked
“I think so. It should be fun to meet some people. Are you…?”
“Yup, I’ll be there. Hopefully we can talk at the party…”
“Ok, see you then…”
“Thanks…I mean, bye…”
Whew he’s finally gone, I thought to myself.
Then it was time for my photo op.
Does my face look a bit flushed to you in this photo?

That’s what I thought. Thanks for flustering me Eric.
We played this awkward cat and mouse charade for a couple months. I showed up to his football games half watching, half ignoring him, as he tried to show off for me like guys often do. I was really there to examine his butt in spandex and talk with friends, though. He showed up at my locker every morning and waited for me after class. Sometimes he even drove me to Subway for lunch.
Two months later, we had our official first date on October 27, 2001. Football season also came to a close soon enough, and later, my confession that I had zero interest in football. I was a hockey girl through and through. Thankfully, he didn’t seem to mind. He does, however, refuse to give away his stinky football jersey hanging up in our closet. I decided to let him win that battle.

Black Bean Chili Dip
By
Reminiscent of a hot bowl of black bean chili, this chunky dip is great to pair alongside your favorite corn chips or crackers. I love Food Should Taste Good blue corn chips or sweet potato chips. To garnish, add some chopped green onion, avocado, cilantro, or your favorite cheeze.
Yield
2.5 cups
Prep time
Cook time
Total time
Ingredients:
- 1.5 cups chopped sweet onion
- 1 large garlic clove, minced
- 1 jalapeno, seeded and chopped
- 1.5 cups cooked black beans, rinsed and drained
- 3/4 cup mild salsa
- 1 cup frozen corn kernels
- 2 tsp chili powder (or to taste)
- 1 tsp ground cumin (or to taste)
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt (or to taste)
- 1 tbsp nutritional yeast (optional)
- for garnish: chopped avocado, cilantro, cheeze, or green onion
Directions:
- In a large skillet over medium heat, add a bit of oil and sauté the chopped onion and garlic for about 5-7 minutes. Meanwhile, remove seeds from jalapeno and chop finely (I use gloves so the seeds don’t sting my fingers). Add in the chopped jalapeno and sauté for another few minutes.
- Add in the drained and rinsed black beans, salsa, and corn. Stir well and cook for a few minutes. Now add the chili powder, cumin, and salt all to taste. Stir in the nutritional yeast if using. Cook on low until heated through and serve warm with corn chips. Garnish with green onion, chopped avocado, or fresh cilantro.
Nutrition Information

I love easy appetizers like this one. I was done in 20 minutes and didn’t have to dirty a bunch of dishes or food processor. Touch down!

I’m also working on some crispy cornbread crackers…but they need some work.

If you need me, I’ll be hogging the black bean chili dip, wrapped in a warm blanket reading my book.
Just be sure to let me know when the halftime show begins. Then I’m all over it.

You can also email me the best Super Bowl commercials on Monday. I’ll watch those too.

Ange!! I love this adorable confessional post – that brought back wonderful memories of the now long lost (where did 10 years go) sometimes (but not always) missed time… aka High School and crushes on boys.
Congrautaltions on such a long lasting relationship! Not always easy, but ultimately so rewarding – CLEARLY you guys ahve a great thing going!! xoxo
Agreed! You took the words right out of my mouth!
Also? That dip looks INCREDIBLE Angela! Are those FoodShouldTasteGood chips alongside? If so, I like your style ;)
Thanks ladies! :) Yup, those are FSTG chips…We’re obsessed! Esp. since finding you can buy the huge bags at Costco. ;)
This looks delicious! I made something similar last night, but poured it over sweet potato fries and called it nachos.
Cornbread crackers sound like a great idea!
Omg…the story how you guys met is really cute! And I’m for sure adding this dip to my Super Bowl snacks lineup! Thank you!
Mmm… that looks divine! I want to dive into that bowl of deliciousness..
The photo of you is so cute…and I loved the back story. I’m not a football fan, either.
Love the backstory. And isn’t it funny what we would do for boys or just to impress other girls back in junior high and h.s. or what made us all nervous and flustered Love the story.
And I’m digging the bean dip and that you have Coronas staged in the background. Great food styling and the pics in this one are fab. Great colors!
I knew you would notice that! I discovered beer is the easiest prop ever :)
I loved this post. Such a sweet story and your high school picture is so cute! The food looks amazing as always!
Your face may be flushed but look at your smile! :)
I love the photographic evidence! That’s a really sweet story. :)
That is the most adorable “how’d-you-first-meet” scenario. I couldn’t help but smile :)
This dip looks amazing, sadly… I don’t think I can make it since I’m not a football fan or going to a superbowl party… partially because I still don’t even know when the game is! :O
I loved your story! Thanks for sharing :)
I used to turn beet red myself in high school…wait…that hasn’t gone away completely! Rats!
heh story of my life…
Wow – I remember those high school days (and intense emotions!), even though they were a long time ago. My husband Chris and I got together towards the end of high school as well.
The chili dip looks great! I love the Food Should Taste Good sweet potato chips – sounds like a winning combo. Their multigrain chips are amazing as well… I sometimes manage to find them at Costco.
Looking forward to your cornbread cracker recipe…
that is the most endearing story ever! How cute!
You 2 are so cute!!! I had no idea that you started dating in high school – how sweet. The dip looks delicious :)
I love ‘how we met’ stories. Thanks for sharing.
Dip looks great.
Cute story! I also have a boyfriend who enjoys watching football, but I couldn’t care less about the game. A bean dip like this would be the only thing interesting for me at a Super Bowl party ;)
I absolutely loved this post! It took me back to the cat and mouse game of meeting my Mr. (I was 17 and he was 19) There’s something about young, enduring love! Oh and bean dip! :-)
Um…adorable!! Much cuter than the story of my boyfriend and I!
Also- this dip looks amazing, I think I’ll be making it this weekend!
Hi Angela,
What a sweet story! And what a wonderful idea (and photos!)! I’m not sure how it’s possible than I have never come across a chilli dip before. It makes perfect sense because I love dipping my tortilla chips into chilli…but I had never considered actually just making a dip out of it! :-)
~Emily~
Oh my goodness- what a cute story!! Wish my story about how I met my husband was that adorable… we met in a bar. Not quite as charming. :)
The dip looks really good- I might just have to make it on Sunday! We’re having a vegan potluck and I definitely needed another “snacky” idea (and didn’t want to make the same old boring hummus… though I did want it for the endurance crackers… guess I can do both!)
So cute :)
That story is so adorable! Kind of wish that would happen to me… ;) That dip looks terrific, so colorful.
That is the most adorable story ever!!! Accompanied by such an awesome dip recipe-this seems like the perfect blog post to me!
Great story :)! Where abouts in NB? You have lots of fans here in Saint John!
Thanks Shannon. I lived in Riverview for a good part of my life.
Ohmygod you read my mind! I’m so craving something like that right now. You’ve reminded me of how much I’m missing good old sweetcorn! This is the perfect meal for me right now as it’s budget friendly, and seeing as I’m pretty much poor I’d like to say a big THANK-YOU! all the way from England, haha. Thank you Ange.
I loved this story. No fair not putting the picture of Eric up… I’ll be making this dip for the weekend. This looks amazing!
hah I couldn’t find it or trust me I would have!
Aw, love the story! It reminds me of me and my hubby – I moved for grade 12 too and that’s when we met. Although I didn’t admit to anyone that I liked him, and although we spent most of our time together we didn’t officially date until much later in the year. Who knew we’d end up married with kids? LOL. Your dip sounds delicious. Not something my hubby would like, but I would love it! It even looks like it would be good wrapped up in a tortilla with some rice or something :)
Awwwwwwwwwww! Love this story!
What a cute story!
such a cute and adorable ‘meeting’ story :)
Aww, such a cute story, thanks for sharing! That dips sounds awesome, and, even better, I think I have all the ingredients on hand, including a perfectly ripe avocado just begging to be put to use. I have a feeling I could make a dinner out of this. ;)
Funny you said that because we made it into a dinner tonight! I mixed it with marinara sauce and served it over pasta….sooooo good.
What a cute story! That dip looks mighty tasty :)
That story is precious and seriously could be straight out of a Judie Blume book! You two are too cute! Was this in high school?
Thanks Jamie. Yea it was in our last year of high school.
I have to tell you that I love your story!! So so so cute! It made me smile :)
I hope you start posting personal stories like this more often! You are a fantastic writer! :)
aw thanks Jill :)
Well, with jalapeno, onion and garlic leading the charge in this chili dip, it’s best to be pursuing a flame from the safety of a sideline so no matter how loud you cheer, you won’t be penalized! Then again, in my book, if he can’t love you through smoky garlic breath than he just isn’t worth it =)
haha well I didn’t think of it that way! Maybe the beer would cover it up? Now thats a nice combo.
Awww, I loved this post. I also met my husband in high school (during the school play!) so this brought back some fun memories. I can totally relate to the awkward getting-to-know-you moments. :)
I’m the same way when it comes to the super bowl. I like the halftime show and the commercials, but otherwise, I have no idea what’s going on, nor do I care to find out. haha
lol..yea same here. I’m sure if I took the time to learn I would enjoy it more, but I’m like naaaah.
Ha… that boy-girl awkwardness in this high school scene is so real…you instantly transported me back many years in replaying this memory. What an adorable beginning to your love story. You two seem to complement each other so well; his kindness and encouragement during your mountain climbing challenge was absolutely beautiful to observe. Thanks for putting a smile on my face and a tingly feeling in my heart this evening, Ange!
(Thanks for the black bean dip recipe too…looks like a winner!)
Thank you Karen, your comment is so appreciated!
Love your story! It makes me think of the first awkward run in my husband, also named Eric, and I had (plus, my name is Anje!) after Spanish class in college. :-)
haha that”s cute!
What a sweet story!
That’s such a sweet story about how you met! You make such a sweet couple.
Awwww I had no idea what the story was behind the two of you meeting, but it’s very cute! I also had no idea Eric played football – I think I would have had him down as a hockey guy. Clearly you weren’t faking that smile in your photo! ;)
What a sweet story!! And a sure to be hit Sunday night- thanks for the recipe!
so glad i read through this whole post and not just the recipe. you are too cute for words!! love this story (sort of wish it was mine ;) ).
I loved the story! You two are to cute! This dip rocks btw :)
What a sweet story and delish recipe idea.
I love love stories. and black beans.
Loooove that story!!
i ADORE this post. it makes me smile because i’m kind of right there now, too!!
You should post more stories about you and Eric! So precious. And the dip looks delicious :)
Hey Angela, I enjoy tuning into your bloggie when I get the chance but have never commented. I just HAD to say something today – That’s the cutest story of you and Eric meeting!!! hehehe! Brings back high school memories.
Thanks for your great blog and all the wonderful recipes you share.
Thank you!
Loved your post!!
This looks wonderful and so perfect for this Sundays game!!! Excellent job.
Hi
I’ve been known to be baking a chocolate cake during the super bowl. But I’ll join you to watch Madona perform.
thanks for the cute story. Always fun to hear “how you met” stories.
That just made my day! A wonderful story!
That story of how you guys met is too cute! And I’m loving your recipes as usual. You have no idea how encouraging your recipes and motivational posts are for me. Thanks Angela. :)
Im happy to hear that Jessica!
What a sweet story, Angela! You look adorable in that picture.
YUMMY dip! I will definitely be making it. :)
that was one cute post! congratulations you’re married to your high school crush..i too am married to my former college classmate for eight years and counting.. so LOVE your blog!
As someone who also married their high school sweetheart, I loved this story! We also first met each other after our friends told each other about how we thought the other was cute. Funny how things works themselves out :)
The black bean chili dip looks awesome!
I’m a hockey gal too!! Black and gold all the way…
Love your story…It’s always funny to reflect on what was once awkward or just plain ol’ embarrassing… Like when i met my husband (also 2001)…I was learning how to snowboard and ran right into him! Fell right on my butt…totally humiliating! Then I made friends with his sister ( at the time i didn’t know that they were related), was hanging out with her at a party at which she wanted to introduce me to her brother…total embarrassment #2 ! … 6 years later i married the guy….weird….
I love your story….brings back sooooo many memories. I met my Eric in high school as well. We went to rival high schools and he was the star football player/all around jock-good-at-every-sport type of guy. It was a huge deal when he started dating a cheerleader (me) from the rival high school. We met in the summer of my junior year, he was a sophomore.
We dated for 7 years–had to get the high school and college out of the way, and now we have been married for 22 years!!
I never have understood football and I was a cheerleader for 6 years–pretty pathetic!!
Thanks for bringing back some memories and your dip looks wonderful.
Peace and Raw Health,
Elizabeth
What a great story, and I think you definitely have that “starstruck” look in your photo :-) Your dip looks so delicious and I love that it comes together so simply with ingredients I usually have on hand, I can’t wait to try it. The Food Should Taste Good blue corn chips are also my favorite!
Awww, I love your love story, especially because we all know the happy ending! :) Thank you for sharing that with us, it put a smile on my face. :)
Whoa, that’s too many smilies in one short post LOL
haha!
Oh yum! This dip looks amazing! Love all the ingredients, I’ll have to give this one a try!
ANGE! I remember this oh so well, I was actually telling this story to my curling team last week after I showed them your blog!! C
haha that’s hilarious Leigh!! I thought you might comment. :) Good times!!
Thanks for sharing that sweet story. I hope you figure out the crispy cornbread crackers soon, I love cornbread & I love crispy! Curious, what book are you reading now?
Angela, the way you write captures my attention ALWAYS! I cannot stop smiling when I read what you write! thank you for sharing such a sweet, true story!
What a cute story! I wish I had a high school experience like that! I’ll take the dip, though. Looks amazing! :-)
Yum!! I love how this is fat free!! I can imagine sitting on a couch, a good book (like yourself) shoveling chili filled chip after chili filled chip into my mouth and feeling good about it. Made with all whole foods and fat free! Double score.
That story made me feel flush reading it. I think we can all relate! Now, we need to see a picture of Eric from high school!! ;)
I am going to make that dip, it looks so good!!! Thanks!
Im on the hunt for it….I think he’s hiding it?
Oh my god this is the most adorable post everrrrr. And I love your class photo! You had some seriously stylin’ hair back then, 9th grade me is jealous. Oh, right, and the bean dip looks amazing too :)
Aw looooove the story of you and Eric. :) The dip looks really good, especially those big chunks of avocado on top.
that is one of the cutest stories I’ve ever heard :D
Thanks for sharing your story – it is so sweet!! You 2 are so cute!! And the chili dip looks delicious too! Thank you!
I just wanted to say that your website is the one I come to every month to look for recipes for the vegan potluck I go to. Im DROOOOOOOLING over your chocolate chip cookies right now, the ones stuffed with cookie dough and frosting- I think Im going to make them this weekend! And I just saw your cinnamon roll bar for xmas morning you created, such a cute idea! And again, drool worthy!
Thank you! Enjoy those cookies…they are pretty much my dream cookie.
Love the story! Reminds me of my first ackward meetings with my now fiance of 10 years (also met in high school) :)
That dip looks great!
Love the story. Mine with my hubby is kinda similar – having a friend sweat not to tell him I liked him but he told and it all turned out ok, he asked me out and we are obviously married now :) Fun memories right.
Love the recipe and can’t wait to try it!
thank goodness for those friends I guess eh? :)
Bet these would be great with your chia crackers :)
It’s so awesome that you met your husband in high school. I remember with my high school boyfriend – we all thought it would end up that way at the time but it never did, so it’s so nice to hear of someone who actually did marry their high school sweetheart! You sure look happy in that photo.
I am also not an American football fan – but I’ll take the dip!
This dip is surely going to be served during our super bowl viewing! I love it. Just chopped me a bunch of cilantro and I am in heaven.
I love the story. I wanted more. I felt like I was reading Twilight again, although, no vampires right? I always find it curious that I could be vegan and obsessed with vampire books, shows and movies. Is that twisted???
No shame in enjoying some vampire action! haha. I’m glad you enjoyed the story Maria.
Cute Story!! Love your blog. Thanks!!!!
What an adorable story! haha Too cute. :)
Awesome looking dip! I can’t wait for Super Bowl Sunday – lots of recipes to try out, haha!
Such an adorable story! :)
Woot, what a great recipe to serve at my Super Bowl party! Thanks so much. I seem to make the same boring dips every year, but I totally like the idea of this one because it combines all my favorites. What type of chip do you recommend serving with it? It seems like the dip would be a little heavier than just regular salsa is, so would something like a cracker or a pita chip be better? Just wondering
Ahahhhaha!!! You are so dang cute! I love your story, your pic and the dip :)
You’re too funny!
xxoo
That is the cutest meeting story ever. I smiled ear to ear the whole time I was reading it :)
You look genuinely happy. Lovely portrait.
Cute story! Did you ever think 10 + years later you would be re-telling that story about how you met your husband?
Great looking dip! You can’t go wrong with black beans and corn!
Most adorable story ever! And I cannot WAIT to try this dip! I think making fun vegan sporty guy food is so fun because people have NO idea when they are eating it that its vegan! The association just is not made. Love it!
I am not a football fan at all. I don’t understand the game and why it takes SO LONG. I do love superbowl food but I will be curled up in a blanket working on my thesis this weekend and maybe I’ll take a break to watch half-time. All I care about are the commercials anyway. Have you read the book The Alchemist? I think you would really like it.
I don’t get why it’s so long either!! I haven’t read The Alchemist yet but I’ve heard wonderful things about it!
Awww…thanks for sharing your story!! I also enjoyed your Arizona videos, first time I got to see you in video! You seem really genuinely sweet and kind :)
Thanks Ashley!
how long does this last in the fridge???
I would guess 2-3 days?
I’m definitely making this for my party this weekend. Thanks Angela!
that’s the cutest story ever (and a delicious recipe)!
FSTG chips are definitely the best. This looks like a great dip to pair with them. And such a cute story :)
I’m addicted to your website…so much so that I check everyday…and not just for the recipes. The stories and running commentary make it that much more entertaining.
LOVED todays read!
Thank you Dev :)
love that story, Angela :)
it was clearly meant to be.
and as always: this recipe looks so very good!
angela! i just made a “flax inside-out blondie” in your honor!~ yipee I am pretty proud of my semi-wit hehe
Loved your story, thanks for sharing! You really have not changed a bit!!!!!!! To think it was 10 years +! Anyway, I wanted to make the Black Bean Chili dip but I just couldn’t do it without my cilantro! I’ll do it for Sunday instead. So I made your endurance crackers and THEY ROCK!!!! I added a little cayenne, some paprika and celery seed. I tend to like things spicy. I cannot stop eating them. I can’t wait to try other variations. The only thing I hate is the little jelly like balls from the chia seeds that I keep finding in the cracks of my teeth!! Thank you for another great recipe!
Glad to hear that Jen!
what a sweet and innocent love story! So cute :D
That is the cutest high school photo!! I guess all Canadian high schools use that horrible blue background, I thought it was just us in BC!!!!
haha I know, I hope they’ve gotten rid of that!
I’m really enjoying your blog. I’m an ex-vegetarian enjoying some vegan recipes! In particular, I’m loving your buckwheat groat breakfast, the “raw” cookie dough and the healthy chia pudding! I LOVE CHIA SEEDS!!! Thanks for introducing me to these new ingredients. I’ve been making these recipes and getting all my friends to try them and everyone is loving it! Way to spread the word on healthy eating!
Now here are my big questions: How in the world did you take the picture of your _right_ hand holding the chip? Are you left-handed? Do you have a left handed camera? (ha!)
Thanks again!
j
j
Thanks so much, I’m happy to hear that!
I take all my food photos with the camera on a tripod…so that’s the secret! heh
Ha you’re funny. What a cute post!
The dip looks yummy!
Ahhh high school romance is so sweet!!! I love that you married your hs sweetheart….and that he still loved you despite your lack of interest in football. The black bean dip looks super tasty as well! Hope u have a great super bowl weekend xox
Oh my gosh… what a cute story. I love that it was right before your photo and that you actually had that photo to share with us! You were a cutie then, too :)
xo
i just made this to take to a superbowl party! its delicious! im hoping theres leftovers so I can use it for lunch tomorrow, but its so delicious I doubt there will be any left!
Good stuff, just chowed down and waiting for Madonna, thanks for the recipe.
This was sooo good and easy! A big hit! I will definitely be making it again, I just found your site this week and have made the oatmeal squares, the sweet potato-black bean enchiladas and the green monster! I will make the avocado pasta later tonight! So happy to have found this site! Thank you for sharing your recipes!!!
Just made this for the Super Bowl tonight and it was AMAZING! Thank you!!!!!
Glad to hear that!
adorable story!
I made the dip for the Super Bowl last night (GO GIANTS!!!!), it was absolutely delicious! My finace ate most of it & couldn’t stop himself! Thanks!!
glad to hear that! :)
I made this yesterday for the Super Bowl party I went and the whole batch was gone in 2 hours (before the game was even over)! Thanks so much for sharing…it was so, so tasty.
I brought this to a superbowl gathering and it was a big hit! Thanks!
I made this recipe for SuperBowl and it was a hit with everyone. All of the recipes I have made from your site have been amazing and I continue to check your blog daily for new ones. Even my picky husband likes them. I am making the Avocado Pasta this week for dinner also.
Yay!!!! I am so excited for you AND for the cookbook!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Angela,
This is a delish recipe!! Is it good cold the next day or would you recommend heating again??
you can enjoy it hot or cold :)
Aww this just melted my heart! What a cute love story. And that dip looks amazing!
Came across your website, love it! Enjoyed reading how you met your husband, lol. :)
First, thank you for this website I just started changing my diet and only after 3 days I see a difference in the amount of liquid that is on my body.
This little lifestory is wonderful :) Thank you for sharing it, sooooo romantic!
kind regards
I just discovered this blog a few weeks ago…Angela, your recipes are fabulous! I made this chili bean dip last night for an ugly christmas sweater party and it was a big hit with all the (meat-eating) guys. No one even asked me about being vegan (sometimes I just want to enjoy the party and not do the 20 questions thing about my diet). I guess no one noticed the veggie burger that I snuck onto the grill. Thank you, and I can’t wait to buy your cookbook when it comes out!
aw im so happy to hear that!
Great meeting story! Thanks for the recipe. I just got done making it just in time for the game.
I am curious to try your crispy cornbread crackers. Can I have the recipe. I cant seem to find it on the site.
Hola!
Just wanted to let you know that I serve this bean dip recipe on our full day sailing excursions down in Costa Rica. I have a sailboat and we do tours around the Gulf of Papagayo off the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica and our full day tours involve a BBQ lunch on a private beach somewhere. I cannot even tell you how many people email me after the tours and ask me for the black bean recipe, including today! I gladly send them this link and hope that they will experiment and try more of your recipes. Everything I’ve ever tried off your site is fabulous. Thank you and PURA VIDA from Costa Rica!!
:-)
Hi,
I tried this out yesterday. It is really delicious. I prepared a soup next to it but had difficulties to finish both. It is quite filling :-). Thanks for the recipe.
Absolutely amazing! Super spicy but so good! I put it on top of a salad and dipped in Salmas corn crackers.
Hey Elizabeth, I’m glad it was such a hit! I too love to put it on salad…such a great topper along with avocado and green onions.
Hi Angela!
I came across this post while searching for a quick+ not too many ingredients bean dip to serve my daycare crew with raw veggies and cassava chips (ended up going with your 60 Second Black Bean Dip…took both 60 seconds to make and 60 seconds for them to inhale it!
I loved reading your “how we met” story…I confess, high school wasn’t my best look (blame the 80’s ha ha ha) and I’m so glad I met my husband at 21 years old instead (no more crimped burgundy hair and shoulder pads that may have rivaled Eric’s football uniform in size!)
Congratulations on your love story!
Thats so great the bean dip was such a hit with the kiddos! I haven’t made it in AGES and need to soon! Sounds like it would pair well with the cheese sauce too (but then again what doesn’t?!) ;)
