Hey there!
Just when I thought I couldn’t be MORE grossed out by public pools you guys have to scare me more! Oh man. It will seriously be like Fear Factor when I stick my toe into that water…
I hope you are having a good Wednesday. :) Today has been a busy one…another training day, orders completed, and lots of business stuff going on. Git er done…!
Lunch consisted of leftovers…

I simply took my lentil Neat Sauce out of the freezer and it thawed in the fridge overnight.
My fridge has certainly been working for me overnight lately…from Vegan Overnight Oats to de-thawing the next day’s food. ;)
This portion is about 2 cups worth, so I split it into 2 lunches.

With some discounted organic celery- which might I add, still has a lot of life left in it!

I actually got up and grabbed the Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for a dip. :) Celery is just…plain on its’ own.
Dessert- Dried organic apricots. One of my all time favourite snacks…

Dinner was leftovers from last night’s Feelin’ Good Stew. I just love this stew! I was looking forward to it all day.

I love the addition of the quinoa in this stew…I’m so glad I threw it in on a whim! It really bulked it up.

Dessert was a tablespoon of organic dark chocolate chips and 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil melted in the micro.
Random yet blissful.
Eric and I just got back from a visit to a sports store where I tried on 1 piece swimsuits (for triathlon training) and padded bike shorts. I left feeling like a 7 year old with a diaper issue. Hopefully I have more luck at the next store!
I really need to get used to the idea of wearing a 1 piece swimsuit again. I actually laughed when I tried one on and looked in the mirror. Seven year old or a grown woman, I couldn’t be sure…
Tonight’s question- Do you own a swimsuit and if so, what kind(s) do you rock? 1 piece, bikini, tankini, thong, bikini, speedo…? ;)
Any suggestions for a killer training swimsuit?

Also if you’d like to win a bag of premium chia seeds from Chia Seeds Direct, give me your best tip for SWIMSUIT CONFIDENCE below! Open to Canadian and US residents only please. Contest closes Thursday at 5pm EST.
My best tip for swimsuit confidence is to rock what your mama gave you. No one else has YOUR unique body so go show it off and strut your stuff. Be proud of who you are and how hard you work each day to keep yourself healthy and fit.
On that note, I’m going to pass out on the couch…it has been a long day! Can’t wait to snuggle my man and watch some Marriage Ref (Tom Papa we love u!).
Have a great night. :) Stay tuned for one AMAZING giveaway tomorrow!

I didn’t wear a swimsuit for 5 years…or a tank top. I’ve always been athletic, but I am a little curvier than I felt comfortable with. The key for being confident in a swimsuit is a) buying a suit that supports you. No matter what your shape, buy a swimsuit that looks good but also is supportive!! You want to be able to move around because…
b) no one likes the girl just sitting there. No one likes the girl sitting there being nervous and shy! Play in the water, do your thang, and enjoy your water time! No one can ever say that a girl out there, not being ashamed of her own body, is an ugly thing. It’s a beautiful thing!
I actually own a few one pieces, just for the pool or the beach, along with my regular old bikinis. I think one pieces can look so classy and retro!
Of course, racing suits are a whole other story :-)
My tip:
ENJOY YOURSELF. You are most likely in a swimsuit because you are some place WARM and SUNNY! Be happy, enjoy the weather, stand tall and most importantly-
LOVE YOURSELF!
My tip is to choose a style that flatters YOUR body, and pick one that you feel totally confident in!
I like a sweetheart neckline, it compliments feminine shoulders and attracts attention to your carefree beach face!
Swimsuit confidence? I like bright colors and a nice tan doesn’t work – right now I’m using Nivea daily moisturizer that gives you a slight tan.
get a bathing suit that fits! you don’t want anything coming out that shouldn’t! ;)
forgive yourself for not being perfect. and buy a pretty bathing suit that makes you feel good wearing it. :)
My best tip is to SMILE. It draws the attention to your face! :)
For my swimsuit confidence, when I have on my tankini or my bikini, I think of not just my outer body but also everything that I have done to look like I do. I think of all of the minutes (hours?) or planks I’ve done, the miles I’ve ran, the bowls of oatmeal I’ve eaten and I just start glowing from the inside out. I’ve worked hard for this bod and I’m proud of how I look but more importantly, how I feel!
Even though I may not have the perfect body, knowing what my body is capable of doing, and being able to have all my limbs intact, I’m damn proud of it :)
Swimsuit confidence begins with a bikini wax. Seriously.
believe it or not no one cares what you look like in that bathing suit!
everyone is more concerned with how they look.
a healthy body is way more confidence inspiring and beautiful than appearance alone.
I rock a bikini now… I feel MORE uncomfortable in a one-piece! I just feel like they squish you in all the wrong places, haha!
Best piece of bathing suit advice? Don’t worry about it. You worked HARD for your body, no matter what you look like- so be confident of that- the woman next to you probably worked just as hard, but we’re all built differently. As women, we’re too critical of ourselves!

I recently purchased a one piece that actually made me feel quite good! It’s strapless so I still think its sexy, also elegant.
Wine.
Swimsuit confidence in a bottle.
Swimsuit confidence? Buy one, take it home. Look at yourself in the mirror in natural light. Sit down in it. Turn around. Jump up and down. If you are used to seeing how something looks on your body it won’t seem foreign and exposed.
More important than a “bathing suit body” is a “bathing suit mind”.
My best tip for swimsuit confidence; find a suit that you feel comfortable in. I used to buy swimsuits because of how cool they looked on the shelf or on the model in the display, but I ended up feeling horrible in it after because it wasn’t right for my body. I have 3 bikinis and feel fabulous in all of them!
Bathing suit confidence advice…hmmm. I was always self-conscious of my body and swimsuits just magnified everything I hated. However, once I bought a suit that fit perfectly (that I LOVED!) and started exercising, I became proud of my body for what it could do.
To sum it up:
1. Buy a suit that fits that you love, cost be damned!
2. Realize that your body is wonderful – it is YOURS, only yours, and look at everything it can do for you!
Ooh, best tip for bathing suit confidence: remember that you look beautiful, you really do. It’s only those mean little voices in your head telling you otherwise! Wear a smile and confidence and nothing else matters. (And like someone else said: everyone else at the beach is too concerned with what they look like to notice you!)
Believe it or not, my best swimsuit advice came from a 14 year old when I was 26. I was newly thin, but still very self-conscious in a swim suit. After an afternoon with her family in their backyard pool – for which I wore a borrowed bikini, the first I had worn since childhood -, she finally told me to stop tugging on my suit all of the time and just ignore it! Her mom then chimed in with a stand-up-straight and be confident. Must have worked because I wore a bikini on my honeymoon!
Be confident! You are who you are! No two bodies are a like, and you should embrace the beautiful body you were gifted with!!!
My best advice it to find one that actually fits. I’m talking enough booty coverage to be comfortable, a little push up and support for the girls, loose enough to avoid creating muffin top (or faux muffin top which is just as bad), but snug enough to hold you in, preferably in a bright color or print to make you look more tan than you are. Throw on a ginormous floppy hat or sunnies and feel like a rockstar :)
I started rotating a one piece in last year and I’ve loved it. I got it from Target for cheap but the style is EVERYWHERE! Check it out here: http://www.target.com/Merona-Bandeau-Shirred-One-Piece/dp/B002DJYG2Y/ref=br_1_3?ie=UTF8&frombrowse=1&searchView=grid5&searchNodeID=1264687011&node=1264687011&sr=1-3&searchRank=salesrank&searchPage=1&searchSize=150&id=Merona%20Bandeau%20Shirred%20One%20Piece&qid=
I`ve always been really self concious when it comes to 2 piece bathing suits, as for the last 4 years I’ve been over weight. But last summer as I was going to try on bathing suits and dreading that horrible feeling I get I realized something, everyone is self conscious some are just better at hiding it than others! My biggest tip is to pick a suit that makes you happy. Although I hate my stomach I have a really good chest so I picked a 1 piece suit in my favorite color that showed off my personal assets, and you know what, for the first time in years I was actually happy to put on my bathing suit.
Now this year, that suit I bought won’t fit due to the weight I’ve lost but I know I’ll find another killer bathing suit that will make me feel just as great if not better.
Best swimsuit confidence tip: FInd a bathing suit you find sexy and own the look. We are all sexy we just have to know it.
Also…Winners has the best and cheapest bikinis I have yet to find :)
Find a suit that fits and you don’t have to “situate” all too often.
And, I hate to say it, but a little self tanner helps if you’re fish belly white like me!
Swimsuit confidence = a huge cover-up + a hat + sunglasses.
Hmm. Maybe I need to work on the confidence part some more…
My best swimsuit advice is to accentuate your favorite parts. Whether you love your legs, tummy, chest, arms, whatever… it will show and you will exude confidence! There is a suit for every body type these days. (H&M has some adorable ones!) If you feel attractive and comfortable, it doesn’t matter what others think!
The best swimsuit confidence (which is more of a statement than a tip) is that you EARNED the body for that one piece….not the seven year old swimsuit with flowers that screams “adorable”, but a one piece meant for racing performance that proves “powerful” and “venerable”. Anyone can wear a bikini. But donning the sporty one piece symbolizes the work and stress you’ve put into your body to train for an athletic event that not everyone can compete in. There is a great deal of respect for the performance-based one piece that flaunts the power and strength of your muscles. Rock the one piece with pride!
My advice for swimsuit confidence – realize that no one else is looking at you! If you’re hanging around somewhere were everyone else is wearing bathing suits/bikinis the funniest part is that everyone is concerned about themselves and no one cares how you look!
My best tip is that confidence is the most attractive thing –your body is NOT as bad as you think! It’s beautiful and being confident about it is SEXY.
Stand up tall and ooze confidence! No one is critiquing you as much as you are- if you look like you feel good, that’s all anyone will notice :)
Ooh – I’ve been wanting to try Chia Seeds!
My best tip is to wear shorts or a coverup at the beach/pool until you are ready to swim/layout. I just don’t like being that exposed in public no matter what my body looks like at the time. You look gorgeous though in anything though! Flaunt it! :)
I’m thinking a bikini wax would have me feeling ready to go! ;)
My swimsuit confidence tip is to buy a suit that fits – not squeeze into one that doesn’t!
And you should check out the Etobicoke Olympium (http://www.eswim.ca/olympium.html) They have a swim store inside and that’s where I buy my suits. I buy polyester suits because they never stretch out and get saggy like the regular speedos do. I have a one piece and a training bikini from there.
My tip for swimsuit confidence is to wear a suit that compliments your best features. They are making some really cute one-pieces these days – the one shoulder ones are especially cute!
Buy your dream swimsuit. Even if its a little on the expensive side. If your wearing something you love, you’ll feel good no matter what.
I own a few bikinis. My best tip is to practice great posture and to always walk confidently. Most people look much better than what they give themselves credit for.
Rock a fun accessory with your suit i.e. chunky bracelet, floppy hat or some fantastic shades – and then dance around to a fun song in your getup knowing you are beautiful, smart, strong and sexy!
The best advice I can think of is to go shopping with your most honest friend. They’ll tell you when you found the right suit for you. Also, like any other clothing, buy the right size, an ill-fitting suit (too big or too small) is not going to be flattering now matter what kind of shape you’re in. Oh, and make sure you buy it in a colour you love to wear and works best with your skin tone. And finally, put on that sunscreen! You’re not going to look your best if you’re the same colour as a cooked lobster and all wrinkly from sun damage ;)
Ugh! I HATE swimsuit shopping. When I have to go though, I make sure to do it in the AM before risking the dreaded Food Belly! :)
wear what you love! if you don’t love it, you will feel even worse in it!
My tip for swimsuit confidence is to have good posture! Walking with your shoulders back makes you feel and look more confident! :)
My swimsuit confidence : don’t worry about what anyone else if thinking, they all have their insecurities too! And a cute bathing suit always helps ;-)
I would always feel so self conscious but then I started looking around the beach and realizing that most ppl don’t seem to care so why should I? Before I lost 80lbs, I went to a water park with my son and I bought a cute swim dress (much cuter than the dreaded skirty thing to hide your thights) and put on a big smile and had a great time. When it comes to confidence, fake it, no one can tell the difference ;o)
I think the key to feeling confident in a swimsuit is to find one that flatters your individual body shape.
There are so many great tips already!! I love the sentiment of rocking what your momma gave ya (it can be so hard sometimes!)
But basically, you’ve got to a) pick one that flatters your body (although this can be hard with a one piece); b) wear it with pride and confidence! Slouching over makes you look bigger. And c) get a cute skirt/wrap to cover up while you’re walking around. I also echo what some other people have said — it’s good to remind yourself that everyone else is probably just as concerned with how they look as you are.
my best tip would be to just forget about what you look like and just have FUNNN! If you’re having fun, you won’t have time to think about what you look like. Like you said, rock what you’ve got!
I have a one piece Speedo suit for lap swimming, a retro one piece for beach bathing, and a bikini for the swimming holes of East Texas. I love summer and I love swimming!
My tip for bathing suit confidence is to wear them often. The more you wear it, the more you swim and tan (safely, of course!) and spend time with your friends at the lake and just let go and relax. This makes everyone instantly gorgeous. Trust me! ;)
I think just to let yourself have confidence in general is the best, and to really appreciate how amazing our bodies are…we’re all different and beautiful.
I personally love Land’s End suits and boy short two pieces.
