Christmas In November

by Angela (Oh She Glows) on November 8, 2009

Who knew my brother Chris and sis-in-law Nicole were such crazy Christmas people???

Oh my gosh their house is a winter wonderland!!! I was in pure heaven. :D :D

I’m so decorating as soon as we get home!!!!

Our night was fun! Chris and Nic have my DREAM house. It is a huge log cabin and it is filled with antique furniture. I am in love.

I always feel like we are staying in a cabin at a ski lodge!

I brought my new HOLIDAY GLO BAR!!! In mini sample bites:

Everyone raved about them. I’m so excited to reveal them soon!

We had a mini dance party/workout/gambling…

In the morning, I got up and thought about how awesome I would feel if I worked out. And I somehow convinced myself to just go downstairs and do it while everyone was sleeping!!!! I made a green tea and a vitamin water and guzzled both.

Running on 5 hours sleep. The first 20 minutes were brutal (aren’t they always?). I watched Planet Earth (The Future disc). It is the only disc I hadn’t seen yet so I was pumped to watch it. Have you guys watched the Planet Earth series?? Oh my gosh they are a MUST see!!! I switch between feeling awe-inspired and depressed/discouraged all at once.

I did 50 mins on the elliptical at a very hard resistance/pace (10-14) and I pushed hard. I was dripping in sweat after. I finished with some light yoga and abs:

After showering, I felt amazing!!!! I had a wonderful brekkie. A plate filled with fruit and my high-protein black eyed pea cakes. I need to tweak this recipe more before I reveal it.

IMG_7523IMG_7526 IMG_7521IMG_7524

I had 3 pea cakes and twice the fruit as shown on the plate. Green tea of course.

I’m currently blogging from the car using Eric’s wireless USB as he is on call for work. Awesome. It sure made this 2 hour drive fly by! We’re almost home…

Looks like you had fun though :)

Madeline @ Greens and Jeans November 8, 2009 at 3:04 pm

I can’t wait for those holiday glo bars!!! This is the first year I have lived by myself but I am definitely planning on some christmas lights at the bare minimum!

WOW! That is Christmas to the max! We plan on decorating together and will get a small little fake tree to put ornaments on this year.
I can’t believe how gorgeous their house is, and how bit it is too! What an awesome workout room, and the bar area is so fun.

Leah @ Simply fabulous November 8, 2009 at 3:28 pm

After I read your post I said to Steve “so I want to start decorating the house for Christmas this week.” I LOVE all the decorations they have. That just got me into the spirit :)

Julie November 8, 2009 at 3:34 pm

That is the most beautiful home I’ve ever seen. Gorgeous.

Abby (Abby's VeGaN Eats) November 8, 2009 at 3:40 pm

What an amazing home!!! You have a beautiful fam :)

Im not a huge decorator because the hub and I are never at “home” for any big holiday. We live in NC but always travel up to PA and NJ to be with our families.

Jaya November 8, 2009 at 3:42 pm

Angela, that is some pretty elaborate decor! Your new glo bars sound just awesome. I can’t wait to hear more about those and your black eye pea cakes! Wow! For no specific reason, I just need to re-iterate how awesome you are and how much I enjoy following your blog. Have a great rest of the weekend!

What a fun night!! I am in love with your brothers house :)

This is the first year that I have had my ‘own’ apartment, so I can’t wait to decorate. I have no idea where to start??

Kerry November 8, 2009 at 4:15 pm

That house is seriously INCREDIBLE! So So jealous!

Marsha November 8, 2009 at 4:31 pm

Dang, that’s an amazing house! Looks like you all had a great time!

Cynthia (It All Changes) November 8, 2009 at 4:31 pm

That house is awesome. I always love the log cabin look.

We don’t really decorate our apartment for Christmas just because its only the two of us and we don’t have a ton of time due to work at Christmas.

But we do decorate our church insides with the congregation. We have a party the Sunday after thanksgiving to decorate after church. We order pizza and then play some games, do some crafts and decorate our little hearts out :-)

Runningwriter November 8, 2009 at 4:36 pm

What a gorgeous house! Hope that santa stocking was for you ;)
I always think it would lovely to decorate for christmas but never do :O We always go to someone else’s wonderfully decorated house and let them deal with the tidying up :S

I absolutely LOVE decorating for the holidays. We usually do it the last weekend in November or the first in December. I can’t wait to decorate my whole house and start baking!

Maura November 8, 2009 at 6:02 pm

Omnomnom! Those new globars look scrumptralescent.
Also– I just ran my first Half Marathon this morning and now I completely understand the feeling of not wanting to take off the medal. Ever.
They can bury me with this!

Brandi C. November 8, 2009 at 6:03 pm

ABSOLUTELY Love That House! I’m sure you felt like a million bucks after your morning workout =) I know I always do.

Katie November 8, 2009 at 6:06 pm

I want that house. I want a log cabin in CO. See if I ever make enough to have it! I would like to decorate early, but we rarely do before Thanksgiving usually the day after.

Lizzie November 8, 2009 at 6:15 pm

I am always kind of proud of myself for a run on 5 hours sleep – it means I have a good chance of still having energy to run if I have a baby! :) I find the first mile is yuck on any run, but then it’s waaaayyy better. Their home gym is amazing. One of my friends is concocting one of those in their new house (going from a 1 bed condo to a 4 bed house!). Can’t wait to read the new recipes.

VegFigureSk8er November 8, 2009 at 6:21 pm

love that house! good job on the workout :)

EaterNotARunner November 8, 2009 at 7:21 pm

Those black eyed pea cakes look amazing! Can’t wait to see the recipe!

Jessica @ How Sweet It Is November 8, 2009 at 8:23 pm

Their house looks so cool! I can see why you love it. I also am a huge Christmas freak. I had a super busy weekend but am starting to decorate next weekend. Can’t wait.

Kasey (Fit For Wellness) November 8, 2009 at 8:55 pm

That house is amazing!!! I plan on decorating after Turkey Day.

Alex November 8, 2009 at 9:08 pm

i am glad you had such an amazing night! I fully support the decorations now…light up that house of yours!

Mimi (Damn the Freshman 15) November 8, 2009 at 9:10 pm

A big part of holiday decorating for me are SCENTS. So I always start with fancy candles (with cute candlesticks), plants, wreaths, and even a bit of that piney air spray stuff–just a tad!

Looks like you had so much fun!

Bethany November 8, 2009 at 9:38 pm

Oh my goodness! This makes me want to decorate!!! We usually don’t do it until after Turkey Day, but maybe we will do it earlier this year! :)

Leah November 8, 2009 at 10:17 pm

Hi Angela,

Just wanted to let you know I made your PBJ glo bites yesterday and they are fantastic! I’m enjoying one as an afternoon snack right now… I must confess though, I did de-veganise the recipe with normal milk and butter, and I used cashew butter instead of peanut butter. But they still worked fabulously! I wish your bakery could deliver internationally! (I’m in Brisbane, Australia)

Jil November 8, 2009 at 10:34 pm

their home is beautiful!! looks like you had so much fun! :) i can’t believe it’s almost the christmas season already…wow. feels like it was just summer!

Amy November 9, 2009 at 3:49 am

Wow – that is my dream house! It almost doesn’t look real.

Thank you for your blogs Angela, i have just got married and am trying to fight off the post wedding blues – i got through the weekend by catching up on your blog and doing some baking – i love your blog!

Have a great week x

Nicole November 9, 2009 at 5:24 am

That house is amazing!! I love decorating for the holidays, but most of our x-mas stuff is in storage since Germany houses do not have very many places to store things. I’m hoping to go crazy next year when we are back in the states! :) Those glo bars looked scrumptious!!

Jenny November 9, 2009 at 6:59 am

This looks like my dream house!!

Shannon November 9, 2009 at 7:38 am

Wow…What a house! Their home gym looks like a real gym! I am so jealous!

Kristy November 9, 2009 at 8:47 am

I am also jealous of that home gym! I’m sure that is so nice in those cold winters!!!
Christmas decorations are so much fun and I can’t wait to put them up in my house.

Kath November 11, 2009 at 7:31 pm
