How To Get Beachy Waves

by Angela (Oh She Glows) on May 11, 2009

You asked, I delivered!!

A video tutorial on how to get the beachy wave look. :)

Sara from Monkey Eats tried my raw chocolate chip cookies and loved them! See her recap here!

fitness Man did I get a workout on and off the treadmill today! I did about 5 hours of cleaning plus some treadmill stuff today.

The workout:

  • Duration: 50 mins
  • Speed 3.9, incline 15%
  • max heart rate: 170 bpm
  • Avg heart rate: 148 bpm
  • I also did 2 side planks. Today I tried lifting up my top leg and it was sooo hard!! One of them was inspired by one of my yoga poses from the BBBC Challenge.
  • Feel the burn: 396 kcals

Don’t forget to check out the BBBC page for the daily updates! :)

I have a meeting for Glo Bakery tomorrow morning so my morning post probably will be late! Night everyone! :)

thanks for the tutorial i will have to go watch it! my curls never seem to stay in.

question, what do you use to monitor how many calories you burn in a workout?

Great video!!!
I curled my hair this morning.. it makes it look nicer on off days when I don’t wash it haha.

The beachy curl video was great but could you post a full pic of your vanity? It looks like your MIL(?) used an antique dresser mirror as your bathroom mirror. If my assumption is correct and she is the one who designed what you could see in the video…….what fantastic taste. You have a great base to build and expand on w/yours and Erics personlization.

Thanks for the video! Do you use hair spray?

HI there! i wasn’t sure where to email you at
but I have a question
I was wondering if I could put that green monster movement on the side of my blog as you have it (linking to your site obviously) I really love the green monsters!!
Just wondered if that would be ok with you??

Nice video! I don’t normally use a curling iron now – got some natural waves going on so a curling iron is a lot more effort than using some product and scrunching a little! But in the past when I used a curling iron I did the clamping technique and you’re definitely right that it doesn’t look as natural.

Okay, I’ve been convinced: I MUST try those raw vegan chocolate chip cookies! Thanks for all the yummy healthy raw vegan recipes you share with us!

So funny you put up that video because I was going to leave a comment yesterday asking that you do this because I cannot get waves for the life of me!

I am going to try this tonight (will send a photo!) for a girl’s dinner out. That way I can try it out before a weekend night out. We will see how long it last with my thin, straight hair.

Happiness Awaits

thank you so much for the video!! i have dead straight hair, and VERY thick, and while i love curling it occassionally, it never ever stays in as much as i’d like. i love the tip about the hair spray, and never tried winding it around the barrel – such a great idea! i can’t wait to try this out :)
