POM Wonderful Giveaway Contest!

by Angela (Oh She Glows) on March 19, 2009

Good morning!

Is everyone ready for a super, Antioxidant packed giveaway to start your Thursday?? I sure hope so, cuz this one’s great!

The lovely Janny from POM send me 2 sets of coupons to give away to my lovely readers! Naturally I was thrilled at the idea of giving away POM products on Oh She Glows. Afterall, antioxidants help neutralize free radicals in our body. These free radicals harm and destroy healthy cells! What’s a girl to do???

Fight back of course!

I like to think of antioxidants as nutrient powerhouses, that enter our body and clean up the bad guys.

Who wouldn’t want that?!

Of course, I had to make my first Green Monster with POM juice this morning!

Could my insides have been any happier? I think not.

The contents:

  • 1 cup Almond Breeze in Original
  • 3 organic kale leaves
  • 1 ‘shot’ of POM juice in Blueberry

Remember: If you are new to Green Monsters, I always recommend adding a banana for some sweetness, as well as a bit more liquid.

The result:

This smoothie was awesome! It had a hint of blueberry. It was so pretty when I was blending it…it was this gorgeous pink and purple colour. Of course, if you don’t use as much kale as I do, it would be a deep purple hue! :) I will definitely be buying this for a treat to create some new recipes with.

Clinical Research Studies:

Naturally I was drawn to the clinical research information about POM! I am still a nerdy researcher at heart, what can I say.

  • “After only three months, blood flow to the heart improved approx. 17% in a group that drank POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate juice, but worsened approx. 18% in the placebo group. The study included 45 patients with coronary heart disease.”
  • “Compared to patients taking a placebo, those men drinking 8oz. of 100% Pomegranate Juice daily for 4 weeks were 50% more likely to experience erectile improvement in this study of 53 subjects.”

The Contest:

We have 4 US coupons on the right, and 4 CAD coupons on the left!

Here’s how you can win some delicious POM of your own!

Mm…I love POM in green smoothies too!

I won’t enter since I still have a few free bottles from them, but great contest!

Janie March 19, 2009 at 9:47 am

Hi Angela! I love your blog, I have only started reading it recently and it’s one of my favorites!! I looked at the POM ads and I really like “The Antioxidant Superower” with the cape. It’s cute:) I am in the US.

Thanks for the contest! I love POM juice, but cannot afford to buy so I’d love to win!! :)

Abby March 19, 2009 at 9:49 am

Count me in for the contest!

I have to say, none of their ad campaigns are jumping out at me as particularly engaging, but I like the Pom Tea line the best. “Deliciously Empowering.”

Oh, and I’m from the US.

leatitia March 19, 2009 at 9:52 am

Love your blog!

First, I’m canadian!

My favorite ad is “POM Wonderful Juice” (1st one, top/left) because it goes right to the point. We’ve heard all about Antioxidant and knows it is good for us. So stated it in the ad really cathed my attention and made me want to buy the product. :)

Diana March 19, 2009 at 9:52 am

Yum! I used POM in my smoothie the other day…
I also won’t enter because they sent me coupons too – I’ll give someone else a chance!

Jessica March 19, 2009 at 9:54 am

yum! And I’m an American.

Jessica March 19, 2009 at 9:55 am

I just linked to your giveaway: http://johnstonesvinblanc.blogspot.com/2009/03/green-velvet-cupcakes-for-st-patricks.html

haya March 19, 2009 at 9:57 am

what a cool giveaway
i love their posters – the chemistry and the psychology ones are really cool

i am canadian!
(also you should probably change “citizen” to “resident”)

brooke March 19, 2009 at 10:03 am

awesome giveaway….

i love the one video about the love story. its so corny but cute.

i am a u.s. resident (but canadian)!!!!

agreed. it is super expensive. these coupons would come in handy

Danielle March 19, 2009 at 10:06 am

I’m Canadian, and my favourite ad is the “Cheat Death” one. I love Pom but it’s too expensive for me to buy :(

VeggieGirl March 19, 2009 at 10:09 am

Holy yum!!

I’m American :-D The Cheat Death ad is my favorite.

Christina March 19, 2009 at 10:16 am

What an awesome contest! I’ve recently started reading your blog (so great) and I love POM juice, I normally don’t drink juice but I love POM, it’s my weekly treat. I chose the “KA-POM” ad as my favorite because that’s sort of how I feel after some POM juice. I’m Canadadian!

Jaime March 19, 2009 at 10:20 am

I heart POM, but I either never think to buy it or am short on grocery money when I do…and it’s an indulgence really so it doesn’t make it into my basket!

I loved looking through the ads. I chose the “Relax, you’ll live longer” ad because I just returned from a Dominican vacation and the palm tree reminds me of the trip. :) Cute!

I’m Canadian!

Annie March 19, 2009 at 10:24 am

Good Morning! I love POM. They are so creative. I would have to say that “Antioxidants are a girl’s new best friend” is my favorite. Antioxidants do a lot more for me than a flashy diamond. ;) Oh, and I’m an American Girl!

Jodi March 19, 2009 at 10:25 am

Wow, props to POM and OSG for the awesome giveaway!
They are all great POM ads, but my favorite would be “death defying”.
I am a proud Canadian ;)

Amy March 19, 2009 at 10:29 am

I like the tea ones – especially the “Overide your genetics” because I’m fighting obesity which the rest of the family all struggle with as well. :) I can be different. That and the condensation on the glass makes my mouth water thinking about that icy cool drink…it’s in the 70’s here in the warm southern USA. :)

Jess March 19, 2009 at 10:37 am

POM is unfortunately a splurge for me – too pricey! I’d love coupons!

I’m also a nerdy science gal, so the “pure science” ad was much appreciated. However, I laughed out loud when I saw the one that says “What gets your heart pumping?” with the pom in the bra…too funny!

I’m a US resident!

Nutsandnanners March 19, 2009 at 11:01 am

Hi Angela!

My favorite ad (it was tough…they’re hilarious!) is probably the “comic” caption one that says “Juice Impostors Beware!” I hate the sugary juices that are marketed as a healthy start to the day, and I hope more people will switch to a little POM-love in the mornings instead :).

US-girl here.

Beck March 19, 2009 at 11:14 am

My favorite ad is the “Ancient power” one with the POM bottle as part of Stonehenge. It just cracked me up and I like that people will recognize what they mean. In general, I really like that whole line of ads (with the “Life preserver” and all those).

I’m an American!

Jenna March 19, 2009 at 11:15 am

cheat death is my favorite!! I’M AMERICAN!

Jennica March 19, 2009 at 11:35 am

My favorite is ‘Holy Health!’ :) Thanks so much for the fun concert and for your blog, I’m a regular reader.

I live in the US.

Missy Maintains March 19, 2009 at 11:43 am

Christina March 19, 2009 at 12:13 pm

I think I have to go with the Guardian Angel ad as my favorite. The Pom bottle just looks so cute as an angel! I’m Anerican, by the way.

Nadia March 19, 2009 at 12:20 pm

I’m Canadian but living in the US. I really liked the biology POM poster, as I’m a biology major and love anything to do with anatomy and physiology!

My husband used to buy POM whenever I sent him out to pick up the groceries, and we both loved to dring a small glass with soda water in the morning. However, we’ve put ourselves on a strict budget during the last 6 months since our daughter was born, and haven’t had any, so I’d love to win these! Sorry, no blog but I really like yours.

Dana March 19, 2009 at 12:26 pm

I am living in Raleigh, North Carolina in the United States. My favorite commercial is the group talking about POM and it’s anti-cancering qualities as well as when one of them tries to take a bite of the pomegrante. I really hope to win this because I have always wanted to try the POM drink. We buy pomegrante juices but I have not splurged on the POM yet. Thanks!

Jenny March 19, 2009 at 12:27 pm

Hi Angela! I like the POM college poster ad – I guess it’s the art nerd in me that like the modern art look of it. I’m in the US.

Anneliese March 19, 2009 at 12:29 pm

Hi Angela!
I love POM, but as a college student I can’t really afford to buy it. I really liked the POM psychology poster (under the college posters). I’m American.
Have a good day!

Bree March 19, 2009 at 12:29 pm

i need to try this in smoothies…i’ve tried drinking it straight and couldn’t stand it…although it wasn’t that brand so maybe it tastes better…i have been drinking a glass of acai blueberry juice in the morning…acai is supposed to be super powerful as well :-)

Bec March 19, 2009 at 12:34 pm

Canadian! My favorite add is the antioxidants are a girls best friend one :)

And I’m Canadian!

Hayley March 19, 2009 at 1:07 pm

What a great giveaway! It was really difficult to choose just one, but since I only get one choice it would be the “Forever Young” ad with the hoola-hoops. It’s really eye-catching and playful and it also reminds me of “Forever Young” by Alphaville. hehe. I’m Canadian!

Debbie March 19, 2009 at 1:14 pm

I am in the US and my favorite POM ad is the one with the theme “Relax, you’ll live longer”. Last September I spent a week in the Key’s relaxing and I 100% believe in taking time to relax and enjoy life.

Sheri March 19, 2009 at 1:18 pm

HI Angela! I love POM juice and drink it with sparkling water..Mmmmm.

I really like the video ad “How to drink a Pomagranet” it was so funny and showed how men always like to do things the hard way as he is trying to crack into a pomagranet while the girl pulls out a straw and starts drinking the POM juice!! Too funny! :)

I am in Canada.

Courtney March 19, 2009 at 1:33 pm

I didn’t know all those facts about pomegranates. I’m definitely going to have to start drinking more of that!

I am in the US.

Erin March 19, 2009 at 1:59 pm

The superpower ad is very unique and it makes me laugh. I am in the US.

Krista March 19, 2009 at 2:21 pm

I would have to say I like the commercial where the guy is trying all sorts of weird things to break into the fruit while the girl just sticks her straw in th bottle and gets to business!!! :)

Canadian gal here!

Kayzilla March 19, 2009 at 2:22 pm
