Can I just say once again what amazing readers I have???
Honestly! I was so awestruck by all the amazing comments and get well soon wishes that were left on this afternoon’s post. I read each and everyone of them as I was waiting in the ER room (on my blackberry!). Thank you all. You brought so many smiles to my face. I kept thinking how lucky I am to have such an amazing support system on this website.
Exciting news to report to you all finally!
So just in case you couldn’t watch that video, I basically communicated 3 things:
- The doctor said my injury is most likely a strained groin muscle. He said give it rest for 5-7 days and it should be better. Key word should. If it isn’t, I will be going to see my regular GP next week. Let’s hope I heal quickly! I am really worried that I have really hurt myself and may not be able to run anymore. I don’t know what I would do if that was the case. I just have to stay positive. I will be doing lots of rest and eating tons of healthy foods in the meantime. Bring on the fruits, veggies, and healthy fats.
- An exciting food package arrived today! Honest Foods was kind enough to donate a huuuge box of food products to giveaway as contests on Oh She Glows! More to come on that tomorrow!
- Lastly, I showed my new voice recorder and talked about how much I have been using it already. :)

Want to see a bad mood in the making? My drive to work this morning (Eric was driving- not me don’t worry!). I was in pain and we were stuck in winter storm traffic. Fun times…
We got stuck behind the snow plows for a good 45 mins….

Dinner tonight was just what the doctor ordered…a plate full of nutrients.
Butternut squash with pepper and cinnamon:
The last of my beloved Squash and Chickpea Moroccan Stew [with a dallop of hummus and organic salsa). I also has some Mary’s Organic Crackers (Onion) on the side for dipping. Delicious!
You must make this recipe!!! I will be making it again for sure. So so good.
If this doesn’t heal me, I don’t know what will! :D

haha i am embarrassed to say i also pulled my groin muscle, once (i was a gymnast when i was a child). it got better within a week, and i think everything was back to normal after like 10 days. (of course i had no idea why i was aching so i kept doing whatever i was doing anyway. lol.)

those honest foods look delicious! and i love how you put hummus in your stew! i eat hummus pretty much everyday, but i’ve never put it in a stew before…

Ah, glad to hear some fairly positive news from the doc. Honest Foods?! How exciting! I first saw them on Kath’s blog and have been wanting to try them ever since. I went to their website and was really disappointed to find out that not only do they not sell their products in Canada, but they don’t ship to anywhere but the States. Can’t wait to find out what the contest is. :)
so glad your okay. not being able to workout is a bummer, but definitely better than other health scares. Make sure to get sunlight to keep your vitamin d up!

Well looks like you will be getting tons of rest to heal up that muscle of yours! I think we definitely take things for granted – i’ll be listening to my ‘inner voice’ if its saying I need a rest!!

omg omg omg oh she glows i cannot wait to enter the contest. heather @ heather eats almond butter sent me an honest foods bar around thanksgiving and it was so yummy ( i think it was the trail mix kind!) anyways….im just so happy u got this!! yayy
oh and btw, do u think u could do an oh she glows clothing giveaway?i checked out alot of the stuff u have at the store (i want an I glow tee shirt) and i think itd be awesome if u gave some away for free. let me kno what u think!!!

YUM – I’ve never tried anything by Honest Foods – but now I can’t wait! If I don’t win the contest I will head straight for Whole Foods.
My boyfriend is a runner also and recently strained his groin. I know how painful it is, so be sure to rest up and heal quickly!
