Kardea Nutrition Bar Review + A Teaser Dinner

by Angela (Oh She Glows) on January 10, 2009

Good evening everyone!

My day has just flown by so far. I hate when Saturdays go by fast! I am stiff, stiff, stiff from my workouts today!! Especially in the shoulder. Is it weird that I am actually craving more yoga stretching??? I think I may do a bit before bed.

I cooked the most delicious dinner tonight…my kitchen look like a bomb went off, but it was honestly so so worth it. I am so excited that there are plenty of leftovers!

I will be posting a video and picture how-to in tomorrow’s post.

Here is a teaser:

Any guesses?

A big shout out to fellow Canadian reader Julia for letting me know that Bulk Barn carries my beloved Celestial Seasonings English Toffee tea!!!

My arms could barely carry all the tea to the counter! LOL. I also tried the Vanilla Hazelnut tea.

I went up to the cashier and I exclaimed, “I’m so glad you still have some left!”

And she gave me sort of a weird look and said, “We carry this year round…”

hahaha…yes, I am a nerd! Oh well, I won’t have to go back  for a while I guess. :D

I was so excited about finding this tea that I forgot all about the candy!  (For those of you who don’t know, bulk barn is a huge bulk store filled to the brim with all kinds of candy and baking items)

I said to Eric, “I think this is the first time I have ever gone into Bulk Barn and not bought a piece of candy!!!”

To which he replied, “I’m sure you stole a piece??”

Damnit! :D

As promised, a Kardea Nutrition Bar review!

Up first, was the Chai Spice flavour:

It packs a great nutritional profile: 150 kcals, 7 grams protein, 7 grams of fibre

Anyways, I LOVED this bar. I loved it! I am quite critical when it comes to judging new health bars but these sure passed the test!

They were VERY chewy, sweet, and delicious. I would definitely buy these again. I just need to find out where I can buy them as I am not sure they are sold in Canada yet.

YUM! :)

Let’s hope that Kardea Nutrition will donate some more bars for a contest giveaway on Oh She Glows!

Stay tuned tomorrow for:

  • Workout wrap-up
  • FAQ’s
  • Special healthy dinner recipe + pictures + video
  • and much more!

People spend a lifetime searching for happiness; looking for peace. They chase idle dreams, addictions, religions, even other people, hoping to fill the emptiness that plagues them. The irony is the only place they ever needed to search was within.

hahaha, your grocery store story reminds me of something I would do.

I’m not sure if it’s everywhere but the Walmart by my place also carries that tv. But YAY for Bulk Barn! I would have never thought to check there!

If you ever find out where those bars are sold in Canada please let us know! I would LOVE to try the chai bar. Anything chai is pretty much made of win in my books!

Hahah LOVE all the tea! I’m not sure what that dinner is but I think there’s pineapple involved :)

That bar looks really yummy…I love chewy bars!

That bar does look good. I also love anything Chai flavored.

I just bought the English Toffee tea today, can’t wait to try it! I also want to thank you for the “What’s in my fridge?” videos as they inspired me to re-stock my kitchen today and buy a lot of healthy stuff.

I have a question about the Almond Breeze… I noticed at the store that they have an unsweetened kind as well. Have you tried that? Is there a reason you are using the regular kind?

OMG, I’m so jealous of your dessert tea spree!! I can never find the fancy flavors of Celestial Seasonings anywhere in NY. Hmph!

Thanks for your comment on my blog — I’m just about to check out your yoga posts, though I might really be all talk and not ready to move from THINKING about yoga to actually DOING it. We’ll see …

No, it is not weird at all that you are craving more yoga. It’s addicting … in a wonderful way!

I loved Kardea bars when I tried my samples as well! The chai was my favorite, but Iliked them all!

Hell yes for yoga cravings, liking the bar, and for a fun dinner planned!! I’m guessing some sort of chicken stew :-)

Deb January 11, 2009 at 9:34 am

I just ordered those flavors of tea off there website plus some other flavors yesterday. We dont have a good selection of flavors at any of the stores here in NY.

Dinner looks yummy. Cant wait to see the recipe.

I am in love with Lara bars right now but I will have to take a look around for those, sounds good.

I havent tried yoga, maybe I should check out that free site for some variety.

Hmm… your dinner looks something like my cassoulet recipe, so I’m thinking chicken and white beans in some tomato sauce??

i always forget that bulk barn has so much great stuff! esp teas and things.

planet organic recently opened up near me and their bulk section is pretty awesome and doesn’t have all the candy to tempt me with (which can be dangerous, as a candy eater and an avid baker) – there is a bin of gummy like candies – i’m not sure they are actually organic (though i thought everything in the store was) but they are not really my thing anyway.
