Morning…errr….good afternoon everyone!
Sorry about the late post! I made a video this morning and it takes a while for it to upload.
I decided today would be a Cross-training day, as I was eager to try out Jillian Michaels 30-Day Shred workout DVD!
Just in case you are wondering why I was smacking my butt during the warm-up…..LOL…it was because Jillian told me to! No, I don’t just randomly smack my butt while working out.
Ok, ok…only sometimes ;)
The workout was really tough and my arms feel like rubber right now. Level two moved fast, so it was a bit tough starting out at level 2 and not doing level 1 first. I would suggest doing level 1 first and getting familiar with the workout. Next time, I will do level 1 and 2 combined.
Jillian was pretty tolerable. She wasn’t half as annoying as she is on the Biggest Loser! She has a few funny quotes, like this one at the end of the cardio session:
“This is your last 2 mins. of cardio, I want you to feel like you are going to die!!!”
hahaha…and I did. :) She would be proud.
Workout stats:
- 5 min warm-up
- 4x 5 min. strength/cardio ab intervals (2 min strength, 2 min cardio, 1 min abs)
- 2 min. cool down
- Total Duration: 27 mins.
- Max heart rate: 163 bpm (oops I thought it was 166) (84% of max)
Avg heart rate: 133 bpm (68% of max) - Feel the burn: 177 kcals
All and all it was a great workout. The only thing I am concerned about is that the video will be lacking variety once I do it several times. I am hoping after I do levels 1 and 3, that I won’t find this to be true!
