Review It: Mary’s Organic Crackers

by Angela (Oh She Glows) on December 2, 2008

Morning everyone!

My morning has already been busy with driving and I haven’t even left for my commute yet! I drove Eric to the Train station this morning, and little did I know it would take me an hour and 10 mins there and back! On the way back, there was an accident on the highway so it took me about 40 mins. longer than it should have. Doh! :

Luckily, I wasn’t planning on leaving for work until 9:30am…aka…12 mins. from now so I need to hurry! :D

Up next on the Review It Installment:

2) Mary’s Organic Crackers

This was the first time I tried these crackers. I was immediately drawn to them because of their high content of flax seeds and sesame seeds (two of my favs!).

The have a great nutritional profile with 3 grams of fibre and 3 grams of protein per serving. They also have 4.5 grams of healthy fats (from the flax and sesame seeds).

The taste?

A bit ‘rice-like’ at first, but after I ate more and more I really liked the nutty and distinct flavour! They were even better with a bit of guacomole and hummus on them. :D

4.25/5 stars

I will buy these again, but I am going to check out their other flavours!

I’m off for a long commute to work! Wish me luck!

Hope you have a healthy and happening Tuesday!

It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

Thanks for the review! I’ve been looking at these, but have been too chicken to buy them! I’ll have to try them out now that I know they’re good!

Great review! Sounds like a cracker that I would really enjoy! Maybe I can find them in my area!

i JUST saw your comment from like two weeks ago about my avocado allergy!!! sorry!!

here’s my response:

oh she glows – it was very obvious i was allergic to avocado. the first instance, i was about 8 and sat under an avocado tree and had a severe skin reaction. the second time, i was about 10 and put on an avocado face mask – same thing, massive hives. allergy attacks compound over time, so the next time i came into contact with avocado, it was big. i accidently ingested it while eating sushi and i almost had to be rushed to the hospital. i was covered head to toe in hives, couldnt breathe, had to go on steroids, etc etc. it was bad.

if you think you are allergic, i would be careful, because like i said, each time your body is exposed to the allergen, your reaction gets stronger and stronger.

there is actually a very common cross-reaction between avocado and latex. are you allergic to latex? i found that out the hard way too.

I had an annoying commute as well… the subway train in front of mine had to make an emergency stop which left my train just sitting there with the doors closed for 20 minutes before moving again. Oh well…

Those crackers look great – and wheat free! Score!

These crackers are weird tasting at first, but get better and better taste-wise… EXCEPT they’re way too crunchy!! They might break my teeth!! – Dead serious! I’m not buying them again because of that. I liked them but I like my teeth too.

Your teeth and gums weaken when you dont eat hard food. This is a perfect type of food to keep teeth and gums healthy! Same type of benefit when you buy your dog hard treats to keep teeth and gums healthy!

I have to agree that the crackers are so crunchy that it feels like there’s pieces of
stone in them.I should have listened to my intuition and stopped eating them but one more bite and it chipped my front tooth. I have strong teeth and this cracker chipped it. I eat raw veggies, nuts, seeds, crackers, granola and no problem with my teeth.
I’m so annoyed, especially with this Covid and not being able to go to the dentist that easily and safely.I’m taking the rest of the box of crackers back to Costco and never buying them again! This company should be more careful that we don’t get stones ground up in our crackers! I have pictures that I can forward to you privately.
