I can’t wait to cook my way though these lists!!! I think I have made half of them already and I have loved every one. My favorites are: Red Quinoa and Black Bean Salad, Back on Track Salad, Blueberry Banana Pie VOO, Holiday Soup for the Soul, Easy Tomato Barley Risotto and last but not least Black Bean and Butternut Squash Burritos
Hi Angela!
I just wanted to let you know that I absolutely adore your site! I just discovered it and have been making the hearty salads all the time. They are prefect fuel for my marathon training! I also made the enchiladas last week and the men in my life loved them. Thank you so much for these amazing recipes!
Amy
I am so glad I found your site!! So far, I have tried about eight of these favorites and my husband and I have LOVED every one of them!!! I can’t tell you how excited I am to whip up another one of your delicious recipes! Keep ‘em coming! :-)
How lucky that I first discover your blog when you have posted a few top ten lists! Seriously can’t wait to try some of those salads and that avocado spaghetti looks dreamy!
Hey Angela,
I am a guy in my mid thirties and really just learning how to eat better and sort of coming in to a new way of thinking, if you will. I have always been a rather over the top kind of machismo guy but have certainly learned to tone things down as I come of age. As I approach 36yrs. old I find myself straying away from animal products. I can’t seem to really notice ANY healthful benefit to my system at all. Just so you know, I have been a hardcore meat eater my entire life. Although I have always preferred wild game. I find that animal products really slow my system and seem to take forever to process. Low-fat plant based foods seem to renew my vigor! Seriously, they fill me up, leave me feeling good about what I’ve consumed and my energy levels never wane when I stick to it. I am in no way a vegan. I still eat eggs and other animal products because I am still learning to discipline myself away from these. When I see your recipes and prepared food my body somehow instinctually knows that it is good for me and I notice an appetite! I can’t explain it but it works! I am on a path to better my diet lifestyle and coming across this website of yours has me inspired!
Thank you so much.
Hi Johnny, Thanks so much for your comment! So happy to hear about the wonderful changes you are experiencing as a result of including more plant-based recipes in your diet. I hope you continue to enjoy them and feel the positive effects.
I have recently adopted the vegan diet, trying to go mostly raw, however, that is time-consuming and not completely feasible. I absolutely love your site and appreciate the fact that you have many recipes that are geared towards the athlete, as I am training for the Boston Marathon and I need to make sure that I’m getting the proper nutrition. Great recipes, great work!
Hi, I have been A vegetarian for several years now and just decided to go vegan (after reading “Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows”). For the pas three weeks I have been giving veganism my best effort, but all I felt really was hungry. ;) I found your blog by chance two days ago and have worked my way through three delicious meals so far. I just wanted to say thank you, I no longer feel hungry, and I have never tasted food this flavorful and exquisite (through all my eating phases). I have passed your blog information on to anyone who will lend an ear… Even the really sweet lady at the gym who overheard me tell my friend about the pumpkin pie oatmeal I had this morning and couldn’t help to interject.
You are doing a great thing lady!
Keep at it!
Nicky
Thank you so much! My husband is obsessed with the butternut squash and black bean burritos – and he’s about as much of a carnivore as can be! And I just love the Protein Power Goddess bowl! Keep the deliciousness coming!
LOVE LOVE LOVE this site! I have forwarded it to all I know. I haven’t even tried any recipies yet!! First one I will try tonight. I gotta say, FINALLY a site that has healthy recipies that look to die for. Thank you for sharing!!
I just wanted you to know how much I have enjoyed your blog and recipes. My husband had some not-so-good health tests results, so we have gone with a whole food/vegetable based lifestyle. I found your blog a few weeks ago when we started and have made several of your recipes so far. We have LOVED each one I have made. Thank you for all of your hard work and testing to make these amazing dishes to share with the rest of us! Your help has made us realize we can do this for the long term and stay healthier while eating amazing food. Everyone in our family thinks we just chew on bark. LOL!
I’m an older lady who recently got diagnosed with diabetes and I don’t even know how I stumbled on your site but I’m loving your recipes for healthy eating, so thanks a lot. You actually do glow in the photographs, and it makes me happy to know you’re on such a good path at a young age, to keep yourself healthy for always.
I just love your blog. I’m getting married in June and have a very stressful job that makes me eat when I’m stressed. I lost 100 pounds 7 years ago and I’ve gained 15 since working here. I haven’t dealt with my disorder in very long time and it’s resurfacing. I’d love any advice you could lend me. I’m thinking about leaving and going to do my passion. I have a great support in my finance. It’s time for the next step.
I just stumbled upon your blog this evening and can’t wait to try everything. I have been making overnight oats for about 2 months, using steel cut oats and almond milk. I don’t like super cold things so I heat it in the microwave for 15 seconds to take the chill off. I will be trying some of your variations starting tonight because they sound so YUMMY!!

I noticed your site probably 3 yrs ago and was very impressed and intrigued with the way you were eating and cooking. I hate to say I haven’t been on the site for about two years, things get busy, husbands to be had, babies to be made…so on. But I was thinking of dinner ideas and you came to mind and I am so glad you did bc I am sitting here now eating left over millet w mushroom gravy and it is fantastic. I admire your hard work and dedication to what you love, it makes me love eating healthy and wanting more in the way of clean eating. I can see that you have grown through your journey just by your website and how it has grown. You inspire me and that inspires my children to want to eat healthy and be well. I will nvr lose touch with this website again : ) Congratulations on your success.
Hey Keri, heh you are too funny! Thanks so much for stopping by. It sounds like you’ve had a busy couple years…congrats! I’m glad you enjoyed the mushroom millet recipe. Take care
Just made the first recipe off of your site, the Vegan Enchiladas. Unbelievable! I couldnt wait for leftovers for lunch!!!! My mouth is still watering!
Angela,
Both you and your website are amazing.! Thank you for sharing your story and your love of plant-based cooking with us. I can relate to your past as I have struggled with eating disordered thinking for more than 10 years. My husband and I have recently switched to a vegan diet after watching the movie Forks Over Knives. We love it and can’t imagine going back to eating meat or dairy. It also seems to have helped some with my desire to binge but I still have issues with it. Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. It’s a horrible affliction to suffer with, but going vegan really did stabilize my emotional mood swings and cravings. I think the amount of refined sugar I was eating caused even more stress to my already fatigued adrenal system.
Thanks again for your insight and wonderful recipes! I love this way of eating and have begun to enjoy cooking for the first time in my life.
I am in love with your blog/recipes. As a new vegan, I was searching for the best brownies and cookie recipes using almond flour and came across your in my first search. They are amazing! (My daughter has finished most of the cookies off already and I just took them out of the oven.) Then I started digging around the site. Oh lady, I can’t wait to cook my way through it. Thank you for posting so many great mouth watering recipes. I will definitly be buying your book when it comes out.
Love, love LOVE this page! Matter of fact, I’m sitting here in my office eating those sweet potato enchiladas right now (and just shared your blog with my fellow veggie-head office mates :0) ).
Hi Angela! I’m new here, just found your blog today and I’m so happy about it. I am a newbie Vegan and in need of new recipes. Thank you so much for all you do here!
Blessings! :)
Hi Angela…Just came across your blog and LOVE it! Wondering if there is any way to “follow” it by email so that I get an email every time you post?? I have looked in your FAQs section trying to find this info before bothering you about it, but couldn’t find it. Thank you :) Mary
I have been flirting with becoming vegan for about a year now. Now it’s time to jump in with both feet. I am excited and ready for a new life. I have been a vegetarian for 5 years. Now my entire family is meat-free several nights a week. It just feels better. Sites like yours really help. Thank you for your positivity and awesome ideas. Keep them coming. i look forward to checking in with you!!!!
I’m so glad I found this website! My fiance and I are going vegan and all your recipes look awesome, so excited to try ‘em!! Your website is beautiful and will be a big help on our vegan journey! Thx!
I’m not a vegan (proud omnivore!), but I’ve been working on cutting back my meat. I found your blog on StumbleUpon and I’m LOVING it – and your food options look absolutely delicious. I love how you don’t depend super heavily on exotic fruits that are hard to find; almost all of the vegan options are substitutable for non-vegan options if I want (replacing “cheez” with cheese; almond milk/cow’s milk; etc.), and that you’re not preachy about your veganism (such a turn-off…your blog makes me consider reducing the animal products I eat, but other vegans I’ve run into just put me off and make me want to eat a huge steak in front of them!). Your pictures help make your food look extra appealing. AND, your recipes look generally simple to make, with only a few ingredients that I’m not used to using! I can’t wait to get started cooking through your website – I must have bookmarked ALL of the first 20 or so recipes of yours I came across. Keep up the good work!
HI Angela,
hello from across the globe in sunny Singapore =)
Came across your blog a few months ago and my kitchen has been VERY busy since then! I love how your receipes are simple and easy enough for the untrained cook to try out in the kitchen without being embarassed=X Your food photography ALWAYS gets my hungry too! LOVE your blog=)))

Wow, Johnny, guys like you are a rarity :) Good for you!
Hi Angela,
Just wondering if I could replace the arrowroot you use in your recipes with guar gum?
Hi Angela,

Hi Angela,
Just wondering what your thoughts on guar gum are? I haven’t seen you use it in your recipes…
