‘I don’t have a goal weight, I have a goal life.’
I heard this quote while watching an interview with an Extreme Weight Loss participant and it really clicked with me!
Along my journey, I realized that a certain number on the scale wouldn’t magically make my life perfect. For years I chased this number while becoming more and more unhappy.
I now focus on creating the life that I want, by taking small steps each day. It’s about how I feel each day when I wake up. If I wake up happy and eager to start the day, I know I’m on the right track. A certain number can’t dictate my happiness, but I can make changes in my life to feel my best.
While, I’m busy baking up orders today, I thought it would be fun to have a Glo Bar giveaway!
Leave a comment below sharing a lesson you’ve learned along your journey or simply share one of your favourite quotes.
One lucky winner will receive a delicious box of 10 Glo Bars! Goodluck!

Coming up, one of our favourite recipes so far in 2011….get excited!

Can’t remember where I read it but it was something like “I only regret when I don’t run.” — always gets me out the door if I’m reluctant to do a run or workout!
“Remember, if you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm … As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others”
It’s quite cliche, but the quote, ‘It isn’t about the destination so much as the journey’ really is true, and clicked with me to really inspire me to think about the small things everyday, rather than just the end goal.
My favorite quote is, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you will land in the stars.” This is a quote I use to keep me focused as I parent my child with Autism. Always aim high and have hope!
“have a strong day” – nike
This gives me motivation not only with my workouts, but also to accept life’s challenges as they come and stay true to myself.
“The beauty about each day is that we wake up with a clean slate”
Find joy in everything. There is no such thing as wasted time or experiences. All that you see, eat, drink, love, and live combine to make you the person that you are today and will be tomorrow.
As a social worker in the juvenile justice system, I’ve learned that in most cases I cannot “fix” the problem, I can’t really help make the situations better. But I can give HOPE. Hope that someday things will be better, hope that every child is priceless and deserving of love and respect. My mission is to act as a voice for those who are overlooked; to bring HOPE, healing and justice those who are oppressed.
The Man Who Thinks He Can
Walter D. Wintle
If you think you are beaten, you are;
If you think you dare not, you don’t;
If you’d like to win, but think you can’t,
It’s almost a cinch you won’t.
If you think you’ll lose, you’re lost,
For out in the word we find
Success begins with a fellow’s will,
It’s all in the state of mind.
If you think you’re outcast, you are;
You’ve got to think high to rise.
You’ve got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.
Life’s battles don’t always go
To the stronger or faster man;
But soon or late the man who wins
Is the man who thinks he can.
Your bars look delicious! Something I’ve recently been lucky enough to realize is that being “skinny” isn’t the be-all-end-all. I’m starting to really love my body and all that it’s capable of–I’m becoming one strong chica!
And just to throw a quote out there, here are some words of wisdom from my momma: “Whatever you accept becomes acceptable behavior.” :)
Good old “progress, not perfection” is something I am always trying to live by. Some days I am more successful than others, but I always come back to it!
My favourite quote:
“You can never fail until you quit.”
I wrote this on a piece of paper on posted it on the wall above desk. It motivates me to keep going every single day.
I learned life is too short to always live in fear, regret, and sadness! We’re too special and important to be feeling that way!
be all you can be.

My favorite quotes is “Music is what feelings sound like.” Music is one of the best ways to express your emotions. I love your note on the scale! :-)
The best lesson I ever learned was simply to believe in myself. If you don’t believe in you…who will?
My favorite quote: “No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.” One of my lessons so far in my journey is that no one can make me feel unbeautiful, or that I am somehow not good enough. This quote makes me feel confident.
AH! A Glo Bar giveaway! I’ve ALWAYS wanted to try one of these. :)
