1,000 Words: Try-A-Tri Race Photos

June 10, 2010

Clearly, not impressed after that swim.

The bike leg was fun…

  ericbike bikeange2

We finished strong by sprinting down the chute to the finish…

run

We sprinted so fast we had to come to a screeching halt to avoid running into the people in front of us.

finish

Not the photo we were hoping for, but memorable nonetheless.

Great quality or not, those photos are priceless! The swimming part seems so clustered and I’m afraid I’d freak out! Maybe one day…:)

My 1/2 marathon finish photo shows my arm and you can see my hat. I was so sad. At least you can see your faces and it is a fun memory!

I had a similar experience after I ran my first marathon last year. My husband and I ran it together and later that day he started talking about his next marathon. He asked me if I was going to do another and I just gave him that look that said “there is no way I am talking about this right now”. The experience was so surreal that it took about a month for it to sink in and then I started thinking about the possibility of another marathon in my future. No dates yet but it could happen! Congrats on going for it right away!

Congrats! I actually just completed my first triathlon last weekend too, and now I can’t stop scanning websites for more in the area.

The open water really is a killer. (Check out my race recap!) I had a bit of a panic attack too, but aren’t we glad we finished it? Definitely a rewarding experience.

Great job, girl!

Ahhhhh, what great and memorable photos for a job well done! I am also jealous that your hubby did a triathlon with you. Me and my hubby have done a duathlon together but unfortunately it was done in a relay fashion instead of actually together….ergh!

Way to go!

Thanks for the inspiration, Ange! It is so true that fear holds us back; knowing how far youve come in challenging yours makes me want to go further to challenge mine :)
