Stuffed Silly

March 22, 2010

Hello there :)

Day 2 in Naples…

Breakfast was a huge green monster…and then we were off to Super Target!

IMG_2801  IMG_9014

TARGET IS THE COOLEST STORE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I died and went to heaven. I’m going to need to go back at least twice more just to see everything!

My mom and I loved the girl’s bedroom decor…I was told that ‘I must have a girl!’

 IMG_9024 IMG_9026

How cute would a child’s bathroom be with this stuff?!

IMG_9023

Oh my gosh…their dishware section!! Words cannot describe how big my pupils got.

IMG_9039  IMG_9042

For the record, I took a lot more pictures…obviously! Unfortunately my blog will combust if I post all of them.

This is what I got: 3 plastic plates, 1 plastic bowl, B12 vits (super cheap here), Halle Berry’s new perfume (smells awesome, my mom and I both got one):

IMG_2814

I can’t believe that is all I walked out with. I must go back so I can have time to try on clothes.

Eric’s only purchase (LAME!!) bahahah

IMG_2813

Then it was off to the Miromar Outlet– it is a huge outdoor outlet mall. And I mean huge…as in you live here your whole life and you might get to every store.

IMG_9077

We stopped at Subway for lunch and I got a big salad.

IMG_9074

IMG_9072

We only made a dent in this outlet. None of us bought anything either.

When we got back to our rental car, we discovered that someone had hit the car and RUN. :(

IMG_9068

We got home and I had a second lunch as that subway salad was AIR in my tummy…

  • Eziekel wrap with hummus
  • 1 orange
  • 1 apple
  • Mary’s crackers + hummus + tomato sauce

Hit the spot!

Eric and I relaxed on the porch for a while and I did some writing. Then we decided to go for a run-bike!

IMG_9124 IMG_9125

It was amazing outside. Perfect temperature and blue skies.

IMG_9131

All along the trails they have fitness stations to do different exercises.

IMG_9135 IMG_9138

I love running on vacation.

I also love having time to spend with Eric…we’ve been going mock speed for the past two years and it is nice to be able to just leave work behind for a while and not think about it.

IMG_9134

We had been gone for over 1 hour and I got worried because we weren’t sure where we were for a few minutes. I asked the hubby if we were lost and he said NOPE! hahaha…he says that always of course. ;)

Picture below: 1 hour 5 minutes: I was saying to him, ARE WE LOST??? Need…water…!

IMG_9143

But alas we made it and pulled in after 1 hour 12 minutes! I have no idea how many miles we covered but I ran quite speedy to keep up with Eric. The terrain is so flat here and I found it easier to run faster than usual.

Once home I had a banana to re fuel and lots of swamp water. Then it was time to get ready to go out for dinner. Eric and I were treating my stepdad to a belated birthday dinner at Carrabba’s. [He is a bit camera shy so don’t expect to see him on the blog!] ;)

IMG_9152 IMG_9157

I looked at the menu and there was one thing I could get that was vegan- a cheeseless veggie pizza, so I was good to go…or so I thought! When we got there we were told that they were OUT of pizza. Ummm…come again?!. Luckily the chef was very accommodating and made me a custom stir-fry.  I had a salad to start (which was decent!) and 6.5 oz of Merlot.

IMG_9168   IMG_9164

IMG_9177

Behold the biggest and most delicious stir-fry ever:

IMG_9172  IMG_9175

I cannot believe I ate it all. It was massive (the bowl was deep). I think I had about 400 servings of veggies in this dish (and probably 10 tablespoons of oil!). Everyone else loved their dishes too.

IMG_9173

I’m still crazy full and it is midnight!

Tomorrow’s plan:

  • Fort Lauderdale bound in AM
  • Checking into motel
  • Lunch: ????
  • Afternoon: parasailing + beach stuff
  • Dinner: ????
  • Bars- Irish pubs

I am pretty sure the motel has wireless, so let’s hope it works…

Night!

Hey. I’m not sure where you are going in Ft. Lauderdale. But if you need a casual lunch there is a GREAT soup/salad buffet in Plantation called Sweet Tomatoes. Everything is homemade and super yummy.

I agree, you’ve got to check out Sublime if you’re going to Fort Lauderdale. You won’t regret it; they have delicious vegan fare! Yum, I wish I were going!!

And now you understand the magic that is Target… you just CANT go in there and come out empty-handed. LOVE their dishes too! Cute and cheap!

What fun, what fun! You totally ROCK that white dress, too!!!

I really appreciate vacation time with my hubs, too – it’s so rare to spend slow-down time together, that when we do on vacation, I NEVER WANT IT TO END. EVER.

Never been to Florida. Me likey! :)

Hope you’re able to find more accommodating eats these next days! Two lunches is sometimes frustrating (I find).

Cheerio! :)

Hi!! I’m catching up! I had TEN posts from you in my reader!! First and foremost, I still cannot get over that big, crunchy grass in Florida! Your pics all seem so “other-worldly” compared to the grossness that is New Brunswick now – cold, snow, sleet, slush. Ick.

I love running on vacation too – one of my favourite activities to do when away because I love the scenery :)

TARGET!!! The only way I can go in there safely is if I have an appointment–or somewhere to be–one hour later, otherwise I’d spend my life savings on their amazing stuff. Funny story: my sister did a stint of overnight stock work at Target while she was in college and she actually had to quit because it was too hard NOT to spend half her paycheck in there!

My new sister-in-law just moved to the states from Canada to marry my brother and Target is her favorite thing about America (besides my brother of course).

I absolutely love Target too, but it’s probably for the better that you don’t have one near you- I can spend SO much money there without even realizing it. Sure a lot of the stuff is cheaper, but some of it I may not buy otherwise :)

Looks like you are having a great time, can’t wait to see your adventures in Fort Lauderdale!
