Surprise!

June 18, 2009

Whatdaya think?

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! So fresh and sassy!

fun Guess who started their own blog?

Some of you guessed it correctly in this morning’s post!

I present to you…

Soup Up My House by none other than my HUBBY, Eric!

Untitled

If you do one thing today please stop on over and check it out and leave him a comment!!! He is convinced that no one is going to read, but I happen to think that he has an amazing idea!!!! :) Let’s show Oh He Glows some Glow love. lol.

And might I just add that I am totally jealous of his wicked Avatar design? He did that in one night! Hot dayum.food

Today I have been busy as a bee in the kitchen! This morning I made my Skinni-Mini Glo Buns. Boy does the house smell amazing!!

IMG_3663

I still need to ice them…

I am happy to say that my muscles are feeling almost fully recovered from my 10k race on Sunday! Just a tiny bit of soreness left. I have been stretching like it is my job (and also taking all my vitamins) so I think that has helped loads!

Just to be sure, I had another protein packed lunch!

I had some Salmon to use up that we got on sale a few weeks ago:

IMG_3518

I made open faced toasted salmon sandwiches:

  • 1 can flaked salmon
  • 1-2 T soy yogurt (unsweetened)
  • Ground pepper
  • Fresh Garlic chives from the garden (!!!)
  • Tomato slices
  • Hemp dressing

Look at the garlic chives outside!!! :D

IMG_3490 IMG_3489

They are tasty!

The sandwich:

Mary’s Crackers and natural peanut butter:

IMG_3520

The peanut butter has been FLOWING in this house since I started making all these On The Glo Bars! I missed PB. :) AB still has a ‘nutritional place’ in my heart but I love PB sometimes!

Ok, back to baking!

And then this:

PS- I didn’t really cut my hair! Did I trick you?

Photoshop can do some amazing things! :)

I have thought about it…but when it comes down to it I don’t think I could do it. Plus, Eric is a ‘long hair man’. lol.

Today’s question: Tell me about your most horrifying hair experience!!!

Mine was definitely about 8 years ago. I asked for choppy layers and brought in a pictures of Britney Spears. What I ended up with was layers 2 inches from the top of my head, in a horrible shag all over! I looked like a dead rat and my hair looked like it was horribly damaged and splitting. I was traumatized and it took me 3 years to finally grow out!!! To this day I am a huge control freak whenever someone comes near me with scissors!

Have a great day!

Ange,
You really got me this time!! I thought the style looks great on you though, but it is hard to imagine you without your long gorgeous locks. Tell Eric Congrats & the site looks awesome. I went on his site but was unable to leave a comment. Probably has something to do with the fact I am using the antique Daewoo. Wow those sticky buns look awesome. I wish I was there to be your taster tester.

LOL – I totally fell for it, although I did think you looked different in the photo. I thought it might be another sister at first :)

Cut it! It looks cute.
I just went to a new place this morning to get my hair cut. It was awful. They didn’t even dry it!

Haha, I knew it was a fake b/c I recognized the pic from your auction for a cause thingy post! Plus I knew there would be more photos if you’d REALLY cut it :) Nice work with photo shop, though :) That thing is magical.

Ah! I thought your hair was real!!!! I think it looks so fresh and summery!!!!
The worst hair experience I had was when I died it brown and it came out maroon since I used one of the all-natural boxes from Whole Foods. On top of that it was permanent and I thought it wasn’t!!! It took my three stops in the salon and a lot of processes. After I had orange hair and had to deal with it. Aweful!!! But that tuna toasts with tomato and those chips on the side look delish. I need to find some of those chips!!! Is the serving size decent??

Fabulous lunch!

I think it’s funny to read all of these comments about “short” hair being shoulder length…I’m currently rocking a pixie cut! I’ve alternated between VERY short and longer hair for a while now (although the growing out process stinks). I miss ponytails sometimes, but I love my hair short!

Haha, that pic looks so real! I wish I had your mad photoshop skills. I’ve thought about cutting my hair too (I’ve had it that short before) but really I want to grow it out more, so I’m thinking a trim and maybe some layers will do me.

totally tricked me too :D But it would look gorgeous and be so light and free! I am the same way, my new hair lady came at me with the stupid razor cutter thing, and my already fine hair looked so thin and mullet-like, major :( I’m so much more confident about my hair being shinier and thicker now b/c of all the good things I’m eating, so that makes me feel a tad better!

I love the short hair on you!

Right after I got married, I cut off a FOOT of hair. I have it just below my chin now, and I looooove it!

Tricky tricky!!

My worse experience was in middle school. My hair lady cut my bangs off so that they were like only an inch long, and it was the day before school pictures. I was mortified!

Oh my goodness- you did trick me, Miss Lady! I think you would look great with that choppy bob though :D

I’ve been lucky to only have on “bad” hair cut a few years ago. All though MS and HS I never really had a style of my own-I just wore it long with a bit of a taper in the back and had the same wonderfully sweet hairdresser all those years who would just cut it however she liked (as long as it was long!). Well I came home for summer break and asked her to cut side swept bangs, which she did but they were too long for my taste, and when I asked her to shorten them she snipped them right down into little wisps above my eyebrows! It made my forehead look like the opening curtain draw of a play! Horrible! and all right before I went back to start my sophomore year of college as an orientation leader for the freshman. Uhg! I still love her, but she doesn’t get to cut my hair much anymore!

I decided to “highlight” my dark brown hair with Sun In-a spray for blonds. It turned my hair orange….not good but i was 12.

Angela! You totally fooled me!! If you’re feeling gutsy, I’d say go for it! That style would look adorable on you!

But I wanted to say thank you for being such a positive role model! Hearing that little 7 year old girls are worrying about fat grams is just heart breaking! At 7 years old I had no clue what a fat gram was, nor did I care! So thank you again, I know that you’re setting a great example, and helping readers become more aware of striving for health, based on intuition…..not through a controlled, calorie-consumed lifestyle!

You totally fooled me! I haven’t had any experiences with a bad haircut, but once, while I was babysitting, one of the little girls decided to do my hair (BAD IDEA) and got the comb stuck in my hair. I had to cut it out, but luckily, you couldn’t really notice. Traumatizing for sure!
Great lunch!
