Eric and I had such a fun day together. It felt really nice to share an activity. As I mentioned in my previous FAQ post, I have been trying to find ways to help Eric enjoy exercise again.
So today I told him I would try mountain biking with him because I know that he enjoys biking a lot. I think he was quite happy to be doing it too! :) It was a fun way to spend time together in a healthy way. I told him that I would go every weekend this summer with him if he wants to! I am just happy to see him being active.
Despite the cold weather today, it was gloriously sunny and beautiful. We bundled up and once we got warmed up we were fine.
Here is a fun little video I put together of our day today- complete with a Beach Boys theme song!
haha sorry about the random text at the end…I guess I didn’t edit that part out!
So all and all today was a fairly active day! We biked for about 1 hour and then I did about 30 minutes or so of gardening once we got home. Today was another great example of cross training! No treadmill needed. :)
I don’t know about you, but as soon as I saw the commercial for Maybelline Stiletto Lash Mascara I knew I had to try it!
I love stilettos after all.
I am constantly asked how I walk in 4” stilettos by friends and family. The truth is I don’t know how. I just love them.
I knew this mascara would be for me.
I opened it up and looked at the wand. I am a pretty good judge of how I will like the mascara when I see it.
The wand was narrow and feathered, and the mascara itself has a nice sheen to it and looked a bit glossy. I instantly knew that the mascara would probably go on with minimal clumps. I find Maybelline has always been good at this!
Before Make-up:
Notice the blonde, pale lashes!
And Voila…
After with Maybelline Stiletto Lash Mascara:
My review?
I think it is obvious that I LOVED this mascara! From the moment the brush touched the tips of my lashes I knew it was ‘the one’. I didn’t have to wipe off any excess from the brush before using. Which rarely happens for me. I had no flakes even after a long day + activity + cold winds. There were also ZERO clumps! Tonight, I tried another coat just to see what it would do, and to my amazement my lashes got even longer! I think this mascara more than doubled the length of my lashes– sans falsies!
I loved it so much that I went back to the drugstore and bought 2 more! With my luck they are going to discontinue this stuff. :)
Because I love this mascara so much, I am going to do my first ever beauty product giveaway on Oh She Glows!
That’s right, I am giving away one of my brand spanking new tubes of Maybelline Stiletto Lash Mascara (Value $12 CAD).
All you have to do is leave a comment below telling me your #1 beauty trick. Link back to this contest and you will get 2 entries! trust me, you WANT to win this mascara! It will change your life. :)

My beauty trick is less is more. I keep my routine simple so that I can spend time doing other things with my life like spending time with my husband.
I love glossy lips, but instead of buying lots of different colors, I brush my lips with blush (usually the same one I’m using on my cheeks that day), then apply a bit of clear gloss. You get a beautiful sheer color that lasts.
I love the look of that mascara. I too have blonde eyelashes.
I have few tried and true beauty tricks. The most important is getting enough sleep. It is also important not to stress. It will age you sooner than anything else. Moisturizer is also important.
Thanks for the give away!
I can not live without blush! Just a little bit goes so far. I use it on my cheeks, temples, and eyelids! Oh, BTW, I am going to link back to you on my blog when I get the chance tonight.
I had time this AM, so I linked you to my blog!
Ooh that mascara looks fab! Don’t think that’s out in the UK yet so I would love to win this comp! My number 1 beauty tip is heating up my eyelash curlers for a little bit with my hairdryer to get my eyelashers super curly, if you’re going to try this test it on some other skin before you use it on your eyes as it can get pretty hot! I’ll link this in my next blog post and let you know when I’ve done it.
My beauty trick is that I never, ever go to tanning beds, and I wear SPF 50. It hasn’t paid off just yet, but by the time I’m 50, I think it will :).
My favorite beauty trick is to put a little lotion on my eye lids before applying make up. Makes it stay all day :)
My beauty tip is if you have a pimple just starting and nothing else around dab a little perfume on it. The alcohol in the perfume sometimes helps to stop the breakout.
that’s awesome that you guys are biking together! My husband loves mountain biking, but I need to be on ground that is not too hilly. I am not so good on steep inclines on 2 wheels :)
best beauty trick? lots of water!
My #1 Beauty Trick: Drinking LOTS of water!
Your lashes look amazing- I need to try this mascara! I put a link back to your giveaway on my blog!
My number one beaty trick is to drink lots of water too, as well as staying active =]
Angela, you are just too cute in that video. Glad you guys had great time together!
This looks right up my ally… I currently use Lancome Hypnose Masacara, and at $27 a tube I’m always looking for a more economical product!
My tip, is to prime your eyelids for longer lasting, crease free make-up! I use either MAC Paint, or when I’m in a pinch a little foundation. Even moisturizer will work well.
Speaking of moisturizer, I use Cetaphil moisturizer for make up remover. Works like a charm!
Ohhhh…I’ve seen the commercials but I’m always so leary to try a new mascara because I’ve been burned so many times in the past. I’d love to try this!
My tip is to sponge on my light foundation as soon as my moisturizer starts to dry. It keeps the foundation smooth and translucent. Then dust with a mineral powder right away for a perfect canvas!
I would love a clump-free mascara!!! Also, my husband is a biker and I think I might have to try mountain biking with him after seeing you try it.
Love the look on your eyes! My best beauty trick…use lotion every day on my whole body after a shower. Makes my skin smooth, soft and glowing! :-)
You and Eric are so cute! I wish I had access to a back yard in my apartment building because I would love to start a garden. Do you know anything about indoor gardening? I’ve thought about trying it for some time now.
Every once and a while I’ll put some olive oil in my hair, let it sit for about 5 minutes and then rinse it out (with shampoo obviously lol) It helps keep the shine. Also…I only really use mascara, eye shadow if I’m going out… I think using a lot of products like some of the girls here in New York do (seriously, you could scrape the foundation off their faces) covers up your natural beauty. I am what I am, I like what I am and I’d rather not cover it up! Hope that works for you =)
oh also…I’m going to link back to this contest in my blog with my next entry
Well, my beauty secret is kind of in competition with yours – I use Imju Fiber Wig mascara that I get from Sephora. It is “paint on false lashes”. It’s a splurge at $25 a tube, but it lasts a long time and it’s def worth it.
Love your pics and the video today! Love everyone’s beauty tips too!
My best beauty trick is Vaseline–I use it on my elbows/feet at night, as lipgloss/chapstick during the day. My mother has also used this around her eyes every night for years and definitely looks younger than her age!
