Eric and I had such a fun day together. It felt really nice to share an activity. As I mentioned in my previous FAQ post, I have been trying to find ways to help Eric enjoy exercise again.
So today I told him I would try mountain biking with him because I know that he enjoys biking a lot. I think he was quite happy to be doing it too! :) It was a fun way to spend time together in a healthy way. I told him that I would go every weekend this summer with him if he wants to! I am just happy to see him being active.
Despite the cold weather today, it was gloriously sunny and beautiful. We bundled up and once we got warmed up we were fine.

So all and all today was a fairly active day! We biked for about 1 hour and then I did about 30 minutes or so of gardening once we got home. Today was another great example of cross training! No treadmill needed. :)
I don’t know about you, but as soon as I saw the commercial for Maybelline Stiletto Lash Mascara I knew I had to try it!
I love stilettos after all.
I am constantly asked how I walk in 4” stilettos by friends and family. The truth is I don’t know how. I just love them.
I knew this mascara would be for me.
I opened it up and looked at the wand. I am a pretty good judge of how I will like the mascara when I see it.
The wand was narrow and feathered, and the mascara itself has a nice sheen to it and looked a bit glossy. I instantly knew that the mascara would probably go on with minimal clumps. I find Maybelline has always been good at this!

I think it is obvious that I LOVED this mascara! From the moment the brush touched the tips of my lashes I knew it was ‘the one’. I didn’t have to wipe off any excess from the brush before using. Which rarely happens for me. I had no flakes even after a long day + activity + cold winds. There were also ZERO clumps! Tonight, I tried another coat just to see what it would do, and to my amazement my lashes got even longer! I think this mascara more than doubled the length of my lashes– sans falsies!
I loved it so much that I went back to the drugstore and bought 2 more! With my luck they are going to discontinue this stuff. :)

Wow!!! That looks amazing!!!! For some extra glow I like to dab a bit of Vaseline on my eye lids.
My best trick would be using white sugar as a face and body exfoliater! Works better than any branded one I’ve tried!
Honestly?? Lots of water, a gentle cleanser, and NOT wearing base every day. I may have to just buy that mascara ;)
So funny you had this post. I was just thinking this today. The best tip came from my Mom right when I was hitting my teens. She said “Don’t strive to be thin. Strive to be beautiful. You’re much more likely to succeed.” That’s it: it’s a resolution for me many more days than any particular trick. (Thanks, Mom!)

My best beauty trick has been taking fish oil! It has dramatically improved my hair and nails :)
I have to ditto the beauty trick of a smile. Even if you have laugh lines, a smile brightens your face and provides in instant natural beauty.
My best beauty trick is not to wear makeup every day! I suffer from adult acne and wearing makeup just made the cycle worse. My skin isn’t perfect since I quit wearing makeup, but it’s a lot better.
Also, I increased my water for 64 oz to 96 oz and that’s helped a lot too. Fancy beauty tricks eh??
I would definately like to try it! I am in desperate need to try a mascara that does not leave me looking like a racoon by the end of the day.
My beauty trick is one that I got from my nana, drink lots of water and wash my face day and night with only warm water and apply Oil of Olay to keep it smooth.

Oh, I’ve seen the commercials and I would love to try this! Mine might not be a beauty trick necessarily, and I can’t remember who taught me it, but if I take a bathroom break in the middle of the day and I look a little pale, I always pinch my cheeks. Sounds kind of funny, but it gives a blushed look that lasts for awhile and wakes up my face.
Oh wow that looks great! So pretty! My best tip? Well, I live in a dry climate, so I put a thin layer of lotion on before putting on my concealer and make-up! Makes your skin smooth and the make-up goes on much better!
A+D diaper ointment for dry skin. I know it’s weird, but nothing is better!

I put on tinted moisturizer (with SPF! always!) before my foundation. I saw a woman on Oprah once who was in her 70s and looked liked she was in her 40s, no joke. She said her secret was, “Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!” Every since then, I’ve been a moisturizing monster! I put it on two to three times a day, and it gives me a healthy glow along with sun protection. Plus it helps the foundation stick better, I think. :)
I use Aquaphor to moisturize around my eyes! Extremely moisturizing without clogging pores and couldn’t be nicer for sensitive skin. I’d love to try this mascara, but only if it doesn’t have Propylene Glycol– I’m allergic to the nasty stuff!
Loved your video and that mascara does work wonders. I have blond eyelashes so get them tinted but it would be great to add some length like that. I would love to win some in case I can’t find it in Australia.

my favorite beauty secret is Clean and Clear oil blotting sheets. They are very transportable and will wipe off the mid-day shine without disturbing your makeup
Actually I have been wanting to try that mascara. I’m a new reader by the way, and haven’t quite started my own blog yet. My beauty trick is honestly just drinking lots of water and using moisturizer on my face once a day. I even wash my face with water during my showers. But I don’t wear face makeup either. My skin is pretty soft and I RARELY get pimples, so it works for me!
