Good afternoon!
I thought it would be a fun idea to do a Q+A with food celebrity blogger, Veggiegirl. :D She recently featured a fun Q+A video on her website with Hangrypants.
But first, my AMAZING lunch:
Of course, I used another of my organic homemade spelt tortillas today!
Whiskey BBQ Samlon Veggie Wrap
The contents:
– 1/2 avocado
– frozen mixed veggies, microwaved
– 1/2 can organic salmon
– fresh ground pepper
– 1 homemade organic spelt wrap
– 1 tsp. Whiskey BBQ sauce for kick
This lunch took less than 5 mins. to prepare! It was so good and I am so glad I added the spicy kick of the BBQ sauce. Salmon and avocado can be quite bland together, so the BBQ sauce was a nice touch.
This BBQ sauce is INCREDIBLE! It is my first time having it and I must say it has quickly become my favourite BBQ sauce.

Q + A With Veggiegirl
Veggiegirl asks…
1.) How has the blogging world affected you the most?? Has it significantly changed any aspect of your life in the “real world”??
I will admit, this one really made me think. In fact, I had to leave this question and come back to it because I didn’t know how it has affected me the most.
After giving it some careful thought, I think the blogging world, specifically the food blogging world, has opened my eyes to an entire area of health that I was neglecting.
Until I starting reading food and health blogs, I did not listen to my body. In fact, I ignored it and did instead what I thought was best. This really backfired on me and left me hungry, cranky, and uninspired.
Since reading food + health blogs (my first discovery was Registered Dietitian, Cristin’s ‘Eat Like Me’ on Self.com’s website), I have really realized that it is totally possible to listen to your body and to maintain your health and weight. before I discovered food blogs, I was all about controlling everything in regard to my health from what I put into my mouth to how many calories I burned through exercise. The food blogs have inspired me to loosen my grip on this false illusion of control and have a bit more fun with it. I realized that if I was going to maintain good health, I needed to make it fun!
In addition to this, food blogs have also inspired me to try many new foods: Raw Almond Butter, kale, guacamole/avocados, pomegranates, quinoa, spelt, Tofurkey, Vegan spread, etc. And also try a wide variety of cooking and baking recipes! My repertoire has really grown over the past year or two.
It is really fun to ‘meet‘ other like minded people and to feel inspired by other’s journey to health stories. In regards to what it has changed for me in the ‘real world’, I would say that it has made me realize that there are many people out there who make healthy living F-U-N– and I wanted to be one of them! I used to think that most women were like me- unhappy and unsatisfied with their day to day routine…but the food blog world has shown me this doesn’t have to be the case!
2.) Do you have any hidden talents??
I am REALLY good with song lyrics. I don’t know what it is but put a series of words in a catchy jingle and I remember it! I remember words from songs years and years ago, new songs, and can often repeat word for word commercial jingles. Eric can’t get over it because he can never remember song lyrics for the life of him! :) I used to always say that I should study by putting information into a song and I will remember it (I even did this a couple times in university and it worked!).
I will forever hate The Rock, because he stole my eye brow raise. I can raise my left eyebrow. Not sure if that is a talent or something I should keep hidden!
I love making weird voices and doing sound effects with my voice even though I totally totally suck at it. I always joke around with Eric and try to do weird sound effects with my voice (like a car revving its’ engine, for example) and I FAIL miserably. Miserably. It is a running joke between us and my attempts always result in lots of laughter. Actually, it would be really fun to compile a bunch of my failed sound effect voices on video…but I am not sure I could withstand that level of embarrassment!
3.) Hope this doesn’t sound morbid, but what would you choose as your last meal??
Haha…Veggiegirl are you plotting to cook for me and then finish me off?! jk…
For my last meal, I would love to start with my dad’s famous Caesar salad, my mom’s lasagna + Garlic bread, and my sister’s birthday cake. That would be the perfect meal. :)
4.) What is your fondest memory from childhood??
Spying on my sister’s phone calls!!! hahaha. Well, spying on my sister in general. Older sisters are so much fun to annoy. :D
5.) Where would you be without Sketchie??? :-D
I would probably have a lot less stains on the carpet and more of my sanity intact, but I can assure you that I laugh much more since Sketchie has come into our lives! At least once a day he does something that totally cracks me up.
Thanks for the fun Q + A Veggiegirl!
