The Waiting Game

‘Morning’ everyone!

I say morning because it feels like morning to Eric and I right now- we were up until 5am last night!

When I went to bed, my head started bothering me quite a bit, enough for us to go to the ER to get it checked out. As you may remember from last week’s post, Wednesday night I took a bad fall in the snow and hit my head on the pavement. My head has been bothering me on and off ever since. So last night I started to worry that maybe I had some internal bleeding. I was feeling disoriented and was worried about a stroke if I wasn’t careful! So luckily, my wonderful husband, went to the ER with me at 1am.

Well, let’s just say that there were many people there much worse off than me!!!! We heard yelling, screaming, vomiting, gasping, all in the course of 4 hours. I felt so bad for the people who were suffering badly. This resulted in a 4 hour wait time before we were seen. It was pretty brutal. He did a battery of physical coordination tests on me, and after a half hour he said there was no need for a CAT scan because it would be unnecessary radiation. I felt better peace of mind for getting checked out. Needless to say we didn’t go into work today! I got about 6 hours of sleep so I am still fairly tired, but my head is feeling better right now.

I am not sure if I will workout today or not. I am going to listen to my body and do what it tells me! :D

I wanted to post a couple of make-up application videos from the Tyra Banks Show. I am such a girly girl when it comes to make-up and beauty- I just love learning new tips and tricks!

… Sorry the videos have been removed.

I’m with Tyra, I LOVE blush! I use the Sugar Cosmetics Tropic Tan Blush/Bronzer Duo. It is amazing! I research blush and bronzers on Make-up Alley for a while before I decided to buy this. It was one of the most consistently positively rated blush/bronzer duos out there. Another cult favourite is Nars Orgasm Blush. I haven’t tried it yet though!

I especially love blush in the winter time because my skin gets sooo pale and pasty. It really gives me a glow!

If you were stranded on an island and could only bring 3 beauty products what would they be?

(See comments section for my answer!)

Are there any tips or tricks that you learned about make-up that you use all the time?

Ok, I need to get some packing done!

I also want to draft the menu for my Christmas dessert gifts that I will be giving to family at Christmas time. I am not sure how it will work this year because I will be away in Calgary until Christmas night, and then heading straight to Eric’s family’s place Boxing Day morning. I think I will have to bake in advance and freeze everything! It will be a challenge.

I will post my menu hopefully today to get everyone’s ideas. :)

Do you have any signature Christmas dishes that you cook or bake every year?

Oh my goodness! Well, it’s a relief to hear that you are alright. But what an ordeal!

Have a wonderfully low-key day of packing! :D

My 3 favourite beauty products that I would bring to an island are:

1) Sugar Cosmetics blush/bronzer duo
2) Oil blotting Sheets (great for warm climates!)
3) Mascara (I always, always wear it!)

Right now I am loving Revlon Beyond Natural Defining Mascara (see ‘Glow’ and ‘Shop’ pages for more info on my fav. beauty products!)

1. Bare Minerals Mineral Veil – Totally softens the look of my skin.
2. Mascara/eyeliner – My eyelashes are sort of thin, so if I use one, I have to use the other!
3. Lip gloss!

1. Smith’s Rosebud lip balm – minted (I LOVE this stuff!)
2. Face moisturizer
3. benefit benetint cheek/lip stain (I got this as a sample once at Sephora and fell in love with it)

I use NARS powder, blushes (diff day & night) and their shimmer powder. They are all amazing! I also use Bobbi Brown concealers and eye shadows – fabulous!

Geeze, so glad your head is ok. I’ve had a concussion before, and it didn’t hit me until a few days later. Hope it has turned out to be a nice day off of work.

My favorites are:
#1 Maybelline concealer stick (always have this for the circles under my eyes)
#2 Mascara
#3 NARS orgasm blush – it’s amazing!
#4 Bare minerals foundation, warmth, and tinted mineral veil

Those are my consistent basics!

Favorites:
1- Alamay TLC foundation
2- Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
3- Cover Girl blush

Last year I made about 30 apple dumplings and froze them to give as gifts. The lucky ones who got them simply had to make a simple sauce (recipe included), pour over them and bake for 30 minutes. It was a hit!
